kontrol s61 mk3 issues??

hi all, i just got my mk3 keyboard and i am having an issue where it doesnt always connect to the track while using with a daw. im using a direct connection with kontakt 8 , if i select another track (lets say uhe dive) and then go back to the kontakt track, it doesnt re-connect and i cant use the keyboards pots and the browser does nothing when turning the jog wheel or pressing next.

any ideas?

also, my pitch wheel is very slow at returning to zero, will this loosen up over time? its the slowest pitch wheel ive ever used, most keyboards ive used spring back to zero instantly. this makes it difficult to do quick pitch glides while playing a solo lead.
