To be fair they being saying soon for kontrol mk3.. its been over a year

you don’t understand it guys. There is a hidden plan.
NI just found another platform to make more profit, make some money and hire more developers to make Maschine great again, it’ll be SOON10 -
c'mon guys, stop bothering him, he clearly has no answers on that topic. maschine+ didnt really made any big steps since 2 years or so, why would they suddenly change that now? it is what it is. at least, you can use their instruments on the mpc now. akai is dedicated about their platform, so it could be a good time to switch hardware.

I would wait until NAMM is done before we blast NI. There is a lot possible to happen up until the 25th.

Feeling good about my decision a couple months ago to buy an MPC over a Maschine +

Same here.
Switching was definitively the best decision here.
I really don't get where NI is going

I've sent this thread over to @Chris_NI who can clarify the next steps for Maschine+. I'm not qualified to speak directly to that as I'm no longer working on that team.
1 -
you might need to give the team involved a shake-up… otherwise you will soon see the pitch forks & torches coming out LOL
6 -
They're working incredibly hard to be honest, and various things will be coming out soon.
One other thing to point out that may have been missed:
The Maschine Central Library we released late last year brought a ton of Kontakt instruments into Maschine, via resampling them into Maschine's Sampler. This is similar to the approach taken in our collaboration with Akai, but includes many more instruments. See:
"We brought some of our favorite, heavy-hitters from Kontakt to Maschine’s sampler. Explore everything from bass to percussion to strings to pads, and beyond. Plus there’s keys from renowned instruments like Noire, Straylight, Session Strings, Choir: Omnia, and much more."
I hope that also helps reinforce our commitment to sounds anywhere and everywhere.

There is one huge difference though, the Akai MPC has a full sampler, with lots of features like macros and modulation, Maschines sampler is just a simple sampler, probably one of the simplest on the market, so it may be prudent to not compare the two, nothing has ever been added to the Maschine sampler, MPC has evolved in to a real powerhouse.
Note here that I am not complaining, business is business and I am an oldschool NI user, I know how you work, this is no surprise, I'm just saying don't compare the two platforms, their MPC software is vastly superior to Maschine, in terms of features at this point, and you just open yourself up to ridicule.8 -
"Soon … ", that word again.
If the development team is working so hard: Why haven't they released the new Maschine+ firmware they promised in October 2024? Back then NI also said that "Soon...".
¿Why haven't they released an update to Maschine 3 yet, at least with the known bugs fixed?
About "Maschine central", the only reinforcement of commitment is to get more money from us. There's no compromise on sound, or any other fairytale NI want to tell us.
As users and customers, the only commitment we expect from NI is to complete the development of its products (such as Maschine+ firmware and its integration with Maschine 3.0). And since we recently paid for the upgrade of Maschine 3 (which in my opinion is very poor, compared to the time we had to wait for it), we also hope that NI will fix its bugs and add new features that really justify the change from version 2 to 3.
Dedicating all efforts to selling Komplete and Kontakt libs without attending to the rest of the products, the only thing that NI gives us to understand is that it is abandoning hardware.
Making PLAY series available for Akai MPC before Maschine +, it also hints that NI is ditching and abandoning its own hardware. On the other hand, you tell us about different teams... And for a long time I have the feeling that there is a single team that takes care of everything and can do one thing at a time. Otherwise, there is no other way to explain the apathy and abandonment that exists with absolutely the entire ecosystem of Maschine. Not even the KONTROL mk3 line of controllers has acceptable compatibility with Maschine. ¿How is this possible? It is a very bad decision for business and I am certainly not going to spend a single euro on a controller that is not fully compatible with Maschine.
I have been disappointed with NI and Maschine for several years. And I've been your customer for both Maschine and Komplete Ultimate from 2014 until today. Since then I have invested a lot of money in NI and I have been regretting it for several seasons.
I'm currently an AKAI MPC user (a very very happy one! MPC3.0 … Exciting, right?), and until NI fixes all the issues and firmware shortages in Maschine + (besides fixing all bugs and updating Maschine 3.0) ... I will not going to invest a single euro more in any expansion or in any lib that is developed by NI. Even less to update Komplete Ultimate again. And even less to buy any hardware that wears the new (and horrible) NI logo.13 -
i remember when the akai software was free? this seems to have changed?
i probably got my akai software account in one of my google emails…
but out of curiousity does akai albeit the mpc software, have a additional VST plugin for their software? or is it standalone software only?

@Matthew_NI No one is saying NI employees are not working hard. But everybody knows that you're severely understaffed to the point of neglecting your own flagship products.
Although, somehow, the NI team found time to put ads into Kontakt 7.
What we're saying here is that since Maschine+ was released:
· Ableton released a full featured alternative with sync over WiFi and proper visual feedback for its plugins.
· Synthstrom updated the Deluge many times, not to mention there are many community updates because its Firmware is Open Source.
· Elektron released the Syntakt, Digitakt II and Digitone II, and propagated every improvement to other machines in their line-up, such as the Analog Rythm, several times.
You are losing the train. All trains.9 -
Aka have a two tier system for their software.
MPC Beats is free, includes 2GB of content, 80 plugins and VST support. The full version is MPC 2, which you can trial, buy, rent-to-own or subscribe to.
The other advantage is that when buying one of their plugins, one price gets you the desktop version and the standalone version (in most cases).
As far as I'm aware, not a single one of the multiple plugins released by NI since Maschine+ arrived have included a standalone version.
Now - hallelujah, there ARE standalone versions, except they're not for the Native Instruments product, they're for Akai's products. 🤣

Cant believe what i am reading here…..
Thanks guys for all the effort you put into the maschine +
