Actually I guess if you have it working on one computer you could export the registry to key to the other for Hive NKS

OK, but where and how do I find it?

This is the defacto u-he default install path for ALL instruments in Windows:

    Documents\u-he\*Instrument Name*

Komplete Kontrol will pick this up with any user intervention whatsoever.

If you are installing anywhere else - you are (Unfortunately) making work for yourself.

But why does it work on the other computer? And Hive is not installed under Documents there either?

I do not know the specifics of your machines - or why you are choosing to not use defaults for all your plugins.

I do know that I had the same issues with u-HE a year or two ago - trying to "do my own thing" installing plugins to a host of non-standard locations.

I reached out their support and their only answer was - "we do not support , test or acknowledge any custom locations other than the defaults".

I was too frustrated to challenge this statement so I reverted back to the defaults (and not only for u-He - but EVERYTHING when I built my new DAW) and have not had even the slightest issue whatsoever with any plugin since then.

One must weigh any advantage of using non-standard locations vs using the defaults. This specific case taught me a valuable lesson and resulted in the most trouble free environment I have ever used.

Here is what all my u-He stuff looks like in Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6:

Did not have to do anything special - but make sure you hit Rescan.

And if KK is not seeing these paths without intervention - it may be because you already used a bunch of different locations previously - who knows what remnants are laying around.

I took a look in the Registry as well - and I see 88 keys/references for u-he. These ones are critical:

All I can offer - is I did not touch my KK dialog here or even need to rescan after installing my u-He stuff last February. It just appeared with no issues and off I went.

So, here is the solution. The installation paths are completely irrelevant. With Hive you have to install a VST2, then Komplete Kontrol will find everything.

Fair enough. Except I did not install (nor do I use) a single VST2 - including Hive.

And VST2 is pretty much retired now.

    Addendum:
I would like to clarify once again that my statement that u-he support has no further ideas was not correct. I was already in contact with the support team and of course had the opportunity to contact them again if the suggested solutions did not work. I am currently discussing the whole thing with u-he and will then provide concrete feedback here as to what the problem was in the end.
To be honest, I was and still am quite frustrated that the installation of 3rd party plugins keeps causing problems.
