    Correct.

With all of TP4's mystery to long time users and also everybody who comes in contact with it?

I'm sorry, I don't understand. Can you rephrase that?

    Thanks for the response.

Im saying the change from any former version of TP, to TP4 is extreme and not being discussed all that well.

    Some examples

Switching between any former TP versions and TP4 isnt best experience RN.

Im guessing at this stage of TP4's infancy its not uncommon for folks to be switching back and forth. Upgrading to TP4 is a huge undertaking because it has new rules for Grid MARKER and a Grid HOT CUE.

TP4 demands we use ONLY SLOT 1 for Grid HOT CUE? Why? I have 133,000 tracks where my Grid HOT CUE is located in slot number 8…..Why? Because that's where I put them. Because TP created this work flow. Now, Its going to limit where its put? Why?

After buying and using TP4 for a bit I decided that it wasnt ready and went back to previous versions. I will remain here.

The improvements we are currently looking into for mitigating the biggest pain points are the following:

    • introducing an option to reset the downbeat on each grid marker (as it used to be in Pro 3)
    • improving the visibility and accessibility of grid markers so that the visual guidance they gave in Pro 3 is restored

Im looking for any word on the (above mentioned) improvements mentioned by product team mod Friedemann_NI ? He described the situation quite perfectly. Is there open voting? A road map? Anything to engage with or get up to the minute info on the improvements he mentions above?

    Thanks in advance.

Friedemann_NI's profile says "Lead Product Owner | TRAKTOR" , so sounds as if he is a lot more than just a 'Mod' .

So I don't think that anybody will know or tell if not Friedemann_NI will. Try asking Friedemann_NI when he is participating in discussions 🙂

You can reset the down beat now.

I'm not 100 per cent sure, but I think you can put the hot cue where you want.

Thanks Carlos, yeah I dont see any option to change Grid Marker location. It defaults to Slot 1. Then disappears if you alter in any way or delete it lol. Just tested using latest TP4 4.11.23

There is still no option for "Grid" in dropdown box. Only options are Cue, Fade-in, Fade-out, Load, Loop

Hot Cues? I don't recall questioning "Hot Cues" unless its regarding the change in how both Hot Cues and Grid Markers are managed in TP4. Obviously we can put the hot cues where we want lol……

As a long time user I can see where ppl are getting pinned. This is a major change in workflow without much in the way of explanation from previous versions. Great for first time users! Not so much for long time users.

Neither of these issues have been changed or remedied. All im asking is when they might be implemented.

I wont move from TP3 until these things are fixed. Im pretty sure lots of folks are feeling the same.

    Thanks

The first improvement has. Look under Preferences→Analysis. The is the option to reset downbeat with each gridmarker.

No. That option has been with Traktor for 5 years at least.

    I don’t see that option in TP3.

You are also confusing grid markers with grid hotcues. Grid hotcues no longer exist in TP4, although you’ll still see them if a track already has them, which is confusing. So you need to open the Grid panel and set a grid marker, and then put a hotcue on top of it.

This has been possible since TP1 by disabling Store Beatmarker as Hotcue in the screen above, but since that was enabled by default, I’m sure a lot of people didn’t know about it.

Im not sure what you think you dont see. Its right there in both TP3 & TP4 versions lol.

Both TP3 and TP4 have Preferences / Analyze Options / "Only Grid Marker" and "Grid Marker & Hot Cue as options. Been that way for years. As you also stated?

    I choose "Only Grid marker"

If I am confusing grid markers with grid hotcues in TP4, why would TP4 have "Grid Marker and Hot Cue" options in Preferences / Analyze Options

I want to change a wrong downbeat that traktor created after async. Traktor misread the down beat. As far as I can see its not possible to reset the downbeat.

In TP4 I went to the Grid portion of the deck. There are two choices. 1. Set Grid Marker 2. Autogrid.

I tried setting both and there is no change in the downbeat grid. It just stays the way TP4 analyzed it wrongly.

Its insane to me that all I want to do is correct the beat grid and it is not possible.

I mean this is core functionality that every platform has from day one.

Its been two days and I still cant get an explanation on how to correct a beatgrid that TP4 mis-analyzed?

Can anyone chime in here. Its a pretty simple ask….

Ok in preferences I changed Analyze Options / Automatic Markers to "No Markers." to see if that helped. It did.

I was able to correct the faulty grid.

First I async-ed / analyzed the track, Traktor misread the downbeat. Then I had to manually find the correct downbeat position, once I found it I clicked the "Set Grid Marker" (within the "Grid" portion of the Deck) and then clicked the BPM button (also located in Grid portion of deck) which tool tips weirdly calls "Reset Grid Marker" lol.

These steps reset the Grid to where it needed to be. Also I was able to set these action using a couple keyboard shortcut buttons.

I hope this might help anyone struggling with the same issue.

Admittedly I could care less about flexible beat grids. Maybe one or two situations might call for its use but all this change to add such a feature is wild.

I wish there was an "On and "Off" Flexible Beat Grid option in Preferences of TP4. It might help folks having issues with the new workflow instead of having to alternate between TP3 and TP4. They are worlds apart functionality wise.

Also changes to TP4 (4.11) made new changes to preferences options.

Would live to know the official explanation to what "Grid Markers Reset Downbeat" means. Its changed location in preferences twice so far. And lacks any explanation of what that means….
