Why does Komplete Kontrol Plugin Scanning take so long ? SOLVED !

Ahhh I finally got it, after I did a rescan of Maschine !! I then loaded Komplete Kontrol and they're finally working !! So what does that mean ? Maschine 3 now trumps the Komplete Kontrol 3 scanning ? What just happened ? This looks like Maschine controls the KK scanning process somehow !

Right now machine does indeed trump KK with plugin scanning as it has a faster parallel process plugin scanner (that KK should get soonish). However that shouldn't make any difference to whether thumbnails show.

Ok great to know, that was the source of my issues, now I'm wondering if the beta somehow affected things. I erased the Maschine beta from my machine, and will test it on the Laptop here on out.
Thanks ALL for being patient with me and not cursing me out along this process ;) up and running Finally !!

One thing that can also speed up KK startup is adding a separate library location for your user NKS. By default KK scans the documents/user content folder on startup, although you can turn that off and make it on demand. But even then it can take a while to scan a whole folder with many sub folders so I have setup a second User Folder in a separate location and added each folder separately to the library/user tab, then you only need to scan the folders you need to scan on demand, they don't all get scanned on startup. This is how it looks for me:

Using a cloud drive to scan sounds as a bad idea (a recipe for trouble). Better to sync with your cloud drive some other way than scan directly from cloud drive

Yeah this can also be an issue for Mac users as by default the user documents folder (where the KK user folder resides) is on the iCloud Drive. While that great for syncing it can slow things down and also Macs have an annoying habit of offloading folders and files that have not been accessed recently to the cloud.
So either don’t put user documents on the iCloud Drive or (if you like the syncing between devices like I do) at least set the NI user content folder to ‘Always keep downloaded’ by right clicking on that folder

Don't tell me that OneDrive has been in the path this whole time?

Holy F…!! I just noticed it.
Cloud services folders replacing basic Windows folders is a NO, NO, NO!

Yes this was my path, that's great news Kymeia, I had no idea we should do this ! Thanks guys!

Wow. That will add hours to anyone's scanning. No wonder you were frustrated.
Power tip: Exclude ALL folder from OneDrive (sync and backup)
I use OneDrive for mirrored sync of some key documents - but I never let it ever interact with the "real" Documents folder - which it will do by default and without your knowledge or consent.
I have seen hundreds of users get nailed with this.

…and an even better power-tip:
get rid of this microsoft rubbish as soon as possible and use Google, Mega, Dropbox, MediaFire etc. etc 😋

Ok I'm changing this Right Now lol, I hope this helps others ;)

Well - my primary directive with OneDrive is to always ensure I take full advantage of Microsoft and burn every byte of the 1TB of disk space that they give me - while ensuring I never allow them to influence (or interact with) my usage with their poorly designed tools.
OneDrive is actually very handy if you severely kneecap it to the max. But never allow it to remain in default mode - ever.

Thanks for catching this ! I'm moving my User Content now to my fastest NVME drive now.
