Tone length issue with Alicia's Keys Piano
Hey
Yesterday I bought the Alicia's Keys Piano and something seems to be wrong with the tone length. With all other plugins like the Grandeur or Maverick it works fine. When I play with the Alicia's Keys Piano, the notes are always longer even without the pedal, so when I stop playing, the piano doesn't stop playing. If I hold the pedal down and release it again, the piano continues to play. Only when I press the pedal a second or third time it stops.
Did someone has this problem and does anyone know how to solve it?
Thank you very much

I couldn't reproduce the issue you are reporting. Is it in Kontakt in standalone? In a DAW? Both?
Can you check in the settings if the settiangs are the same as here?
Can you check when in Classic view if anything is assigned to MIDI CC 64, 65 or 66?

I tried sth that worked. In the Alicia’s Keys, you can decide which pedal should be the sustain pedal. I have three pedals available so I routed the sostenuto pedal to the sustain function (the sostenuto is a on/off switch). This way, it works.
Or do we have some other options?

Hey Jeremy, thank you for your help. Everything looks the same like in your screenshots, unfortunately it still doesn’t work.

What keyboard model/brand do you have? Is this happening in Kontakt in standalone? In your DAW? Both? What DAW is it? What's your operating system?
Can you check what MIIDI information is carried out with your keyboard when this happens? How to Monitor the Output of a MIDI Controller

It’s a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-609. It happens in Kontakt and in Logic. My operating system is Mac OS 14.3. If I compare the MIDI information with the Alicia’s Keys Plugin and without, I can’t recognize a difference.

Ok, so can you reproduce the issue in Kontakt in standalone? this way we can figure out if the issue is coming from the library itself, Kontakt or Logic.
Are you loading a factory preset of Alicia's Keys?
Regarding the MIDI monitor, what MIDI messages appear when you press the pedal? CC64, sustain?

It also happens if I just use it in Kontakt. I think it’s not from Kontakt, because all the other pianos work. On CC64, I see a red dot if I press and release the Pedal. I saw that if I press and release the pedal slowly, the red dot appears many times. I think that the pedal of my piano and the programm allow subtle levels of pedal use.

I'm not sure what you mean here. To check MIDI activity, please use MIDI monitor: How to Monitor the Output of a MIDI Controller
Try uninstalling the library completely in Native Access and reinstall it.

Ah, I watched in the automation section in Kontakt 8. I already uninstalled und installed the Alicia’s Keys two times, but it’s still the same.
I did three pedal tests in Kontakt 8 standalone. With the Piano Noire, Claire and with Alicia. Noire and Claire work perfectly fine. I’ll add some screenshots of the three pianos in MIDI Monitor, maybe you can recognize sth. I did’t see a difference.

Ok so this looks like a half damper pedal. Maybe check what the specs of the pedal are. Typycally half damper pedals are not like regular sustain pedals. A regular sustain pedal is a switch, on or off, half damper is a mixture of a switch and continuous message. If you can share more info on your pedal and it's implementation maybe we can see how/where it messes with this library.

I don't think there's another way. Well done for finding the solution to this problem.
