Hello all,

Though I've been reading, I'm totally new to virtual instruments - forgive any stoopid questions.

I would like to use an NI Kontrol Keyboard with iPAD to host any software & VST plugins. I am interested in live performance only so have no need for a DAW. I'm hoping somebody can help me out and let me know if I require a 3rd-party VST host running on the iPAD. Or, is there NI software that already manages the plugins ?

Any other beginner advice would help this old dog.

Corrected my post - you can do it directly now with more recent iPads that use normal USB-C - just not the older ones that used Lighting (ideally you need to also be powering the keyboard externally)

I am not aware of any way to hardwire an S-Series keyboard to an iPAD - and even if you could - there is no such thing as Komplete Kontrol for iPad (any third party VSTs that would run on an iPad).

By design - the Komplete Kontrol ecosystem requires a Windows or Mac computer AND (ideally) a DAW to perform any meaningful tasks

Yeah you can use the keyboard using the USB cable or Bluetooth MIDI

But definitely can't use VST plugins - only au3 (and not any NI plugins)

Figured as much.

Considering there is no inputs whatsoever on a typical iPad these days - except the power/recharge connector.
