I bought the upgrade to kontakt 8 today and cubase 14 won't see it. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Rebooted my computer and nothing helps. Anyone have any idea how to get it to work? Thanks

If Cubase can see other VST3 plugins, then it can see Kontakt too.

Go to "Studio" and open VST Plugin Manager

On VST Plugin Manager, go to VST Instruments

Click the arrow at the far top-right corner.

If your plugins are shorted by Category, Kontakt is inside "Other" folder

If your plugins are shorted by Vendor, Kontakt is inside "Native Instruments" folder

    …you can't miss it! ;-)

If the Kontakt 8.vst3 file is inside the common VST3 folder (as it should be by default), it is impossible that Cubase can not see it.

Please go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 and check if the file is there.

If it is, then do a forced plugin re-scan in Cubase.

How can I find the VST? It only seems to install the application and not the VST? I How can I download the vst. NI only lets me download the app.

If you install via Native Access, the VST should be installed at the same time. I've installed the Kontakt 8 Player and it's working in Cubase 14 - though I'm having issues with long load times, still investigating this.

I actually found the Kontakt 8.vst3 in the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3  but cubase is for sure not seeing it.

You need to force a plugin scan from within Cubase so it can rebuild the entire plugin database.

SOLVED! I actually had a CUSTOM COLLECTION on and new VSTs were not being seen. Thank you for your help.

One random question. I got a voucher for $99 but it says invalid. Who do I reach out to so I can use this during Black Friday? Thanks

It will only say "invalid" if you attempt to use it on products that cannot be bought with it.

Here's what I got back from NI Support earlier this week on this question:

The voucher is valid for any NI Kontakt library, as long as is not an NKS partner product or part of an existing sales promotion or discount.

So - if you are trying to use it on any product that is part of Cyber Season - it's a no go.

If it says "invalid" then you can't use it.

Either way, vouchers can be used only on full products not on discounted ones.
…and black Friday is a big discount so, most probably that is the reason why your voucher become invalid.
However, keep it. It can be used on non-discounted products, or after the end of black Friday.
