How do I set a desired controller as my default chosen one for Komplete Kontrol

I have two NI controllers, 1 is my main one which is the S88 MK2, and the other one is the M32. When I open Komplete Kontrol software in my DAW it always by default choses the M32. I know I can chose another one, but its a step id rather not take, but instead automatically have the correct controller selected?

Thanks, Dan

Short answer, you can't choose which one is your main controller, basically having more than 1 connected causes issues and the way it selects which one is the main one…. alphabetically. M comes before S so your M series will be the "intelligent" one and yes, this has been asked for MANY times for close to a decade now…

Thank you, I thought this may be the case, but was hoping there was a workaround. I do wonder what happens if someone has a Machine, does that too take priority?

In either case it would seem Native Instruments dont care too much about the compatibility of their own products as this stems over to the issue of not having their plugins scalable. It looks like having a their own keyboard with their own software is not the way to go and as such I will use Kontact 8 which is not intergraded into the Komplete Keyboard. This makes me think I may as well go on in and get an Arturia Keylab.

    Thanks, Dan

No, Maschine does not work as a control surface for Komplete Kontrol so does not take any precedence. KK detects attacked keyboards and automatically connects with the help of hte "Hardware Service" that runs as a daemon on your system. It seems to just pick the first KK keyboard controller it finds and uses it.

Thank you for your reply. Its a shame Native Instruments dont want their users to buy more than one KK controller. Dan
