I don’t think NI owes us free stem separation. Maybe that’s why they went the new feature route for 3.0 first instead of the more popular community requests, in order to be able to charge for the update rather than charge for features that are missing, which probably would have upset everyone. Now they have a year or two to complete 3.1, .2, .3, etc.

At least half of any improvements will be made according to NI's internal Maschine development path, which includes things like increasing compatibility with other companies/products within the NI corporate framework and items they believe are 'exciting' or 'modish', so expect a closer integration with Izotope product lines and AI because that's what the company is working on.
In terms of user 'demanded' features, you'll see the ones that fit with their vision of what Maschine should be viz instrument/groovebox/DAW - stem separation seems a good bet as the sampler in Maschine is really good. But moving closer to being a standalone DAW seems very, very unlikely as the DAW market is large and not spectacularly profitable.
I"m fine paying for the upgrade, but I'd be far happier to pay for it if NI were happier to support their hardware for longer.0 -
I hope they don’t mix in too much of the daw-stuff. M+/Msw wasn’t meant to be a daw and wasn’t designed to be a daw. Let’s just hope they’re actually thinking things through and that they have a clear goal and vision for what the Maschine will be from 3,0 and forward.

As the Z1 MK2 launched on the 1st, NI hardly ever give anything less than two weeks. Although I'd normally expect something mid-November, I'm also expecting a hardware update, not just a software update, so maybe toward the end of the month.
I've been wrong a million times, though.0 -
Maybe not the most exciting feature but I hope 3.0 finally gives us the option to freely resize the GUI when used inside a DAW.

Yesterday an email came with the subject:
"What’s new at NI this month?"
Unfortunately, maschine 3.0 wasn't mentioned at all, maybe in December...

i guess i read it somewhere, kinda official from Ni, that it will come in Nov… that would be very expected though if they will miss the date. As always :) however, why then tell it everyone. People may already be planning their budget, holiday plans, etc…

I will not be paying for stem separation and a new GUI and tempo change. I can already do all this stuff. It's not worth it. It's been over 10 years sense a big update, and this is all they have to offer. Let's be able to record vocals. Let's be able to record linearly. Let's make the piano better. I understand the hardware being outdated, that's just another something to upgrade. IN ADDITION TO PAYING FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE. DUMB. you guy are going to lose a lot of customers. just my thoughts.

We stopped updating the page you linked, but Maschine 2 has been updated many times, averaging one update per quarter (4 in 2024, 4 in 2023, 5 in 2022). All of these updates have been free.

It's not new yet. It will be once it launches… this month!

Nobody is forcing you to even uodate at all , i think it's fair to pay something on a full fledge update where they can build upon further.
My gut is telling me that 3.0 is coming 6 November…
Really looking forward to this update and what they got in store for us 😎
