I was wondering if there was a way to recreate a moog bass sound with Guitar Rig 6? I love using it with my 5 string bass but cant find a preset that makes it sound like it and I am not very good at sound design.
Thanks
I think there is software which actually "translates" audio input into MIDI input, but, I have no idea where to start in that regard.
I'd suggest that MIDI Bass (from the same company) would be a better choice.

Online comments explain that the guitar system is designed to work within the range of a guitar, and that tracking bass notes (in general) is more difficult/slower.
you want to achieve it with the bass guitar? or it is fine also a vst?
The Moog bass sound is unprocessed so fx/amp wouldn’t really get you there, you need a VA synth, ideally something that models a MOOG like Monark, The Legend or Diva
Or…an original Moog plugin…
If you own Komplete, you own Monark, which gives you that sound out of the box.
Thanks everyone, I want to create the sound with my 5 string base that I actually play, I have Komplete 14 CE if that helps, so something that gives me a moog sound as I play my bass DI'd into my audio interface.
Thanks🙂
With my bass
this needs some experimentation, can you send a sample or a video with the exact sound you are looking for? maybe a dry bass line would be nice too.
I haven't used Guitar Rig for a while, does it have some kind of "synth" effect module?? One that creates a synthetic sound based on the guitar/bass input?? If so, thats where I'd start. Also consider a filter/eq style plugin with an envelope follower and resonance.
At least that is where I would begin if there were synth stomp effects
The best example I can think of is PYT by Michael Jackson which I belive was performed on a moog so If you listen to that bass, that's the sound I am looking for.

Silly question but can I trigger Monark sounds with an analog input like my bass?
According to Anthony Marinelli (who should know!) the PYT bass sound is an ARP 2600 doubled with a bass guitar (the late Louis Johnson).

Sweet, so that would be an example sound that I am trying to achieve with my bass.
There is MIDI GUITAR 2, which works very well:
