Can't send midi notes to 2 korg via usb
I'd like to use maschine 2 as sequencer for my HW.
I can't send midi notes separately to my 2 korg electribe via usb.
in the midi preference window maschine2 can recognize both
in the control area maschine recognize only one piece of HW, so I have both electribe playing the same notes.
How can I solve this?
Thanks for your help :)

I think that this is the standard help page : Setting Up MASCHINE MIDI Presets to Control External Hardware Instruments , Note: If you want to control a hardware synthesizer or only a particular sound of a hardware drum machine, you must use a sound slot.
Manual says , quote : 2.3.6 Using Two or More Hardware Controllers / 3.3.7 Using Two or More Hardware Controllers
If two or more MASCHINE controllers of different types are connected to your
computer, only one controller can be used to control the MASCHINE software at a time.If the same applies to controlling from the software/sending I don't know.
If it can not be achieved otherwise then maybe you can achieve what you want by using the Maschine 2 software as a plugin in a DAW and then set a different channel for each instance ?

What if you set a different MIDI channel for each of the Electribes, set the corresponding MIDI channels in Maschine?

Well, not sure if what you're trying to achieve is possible. I don't have these devices to test unfortunately.

@PoorFellow Nice one, I hadn't thought about using the MIDI 5 pin instead.

How do the Port names show up in Logic? Are they also both the same?
If i remember correctly, Maschine does not support 2 MIDI Ports with the same name, since you have 2 of the same device it gets confused.
You can try one of them via DIN Cable or use anything that creates a virtual MIDI Port, which you can configure to receive from Maschine and send to the 2nd Electribe, either an IAC Bus or External Device, this way the name will be different… I don't have 2 of the same devices to properly test and advise tho.

Thank you very much Jeremy 🙂 , rather funny thing is that after contemplating some more then I started second-guessing the usability of the midi adapter part of my own advice in this connection 🤔 and ended up removing it. 🤣 (Ref. ESI MidiMate eX at Thomann)
