When will Reaktor7 come?

I second this. As I completely scoured that list multiple times but couldn't find it. I knew it was "implied" because they were still including classics like Monark and Form, but there was no formal mention of it.
It used to be one of their prize jewels and it would usually have gotten top billing. But now, it's been demoted to feature as a secondary product. It does say quite a lot, so does it's original omission from the list
At least Battery wasn't omitted the first time around.
My guess is they will be focusing on what makes them money first, build up the catalog a bit more. It's only smart business sense. Then when they have a bit more return on their investment readdress products like Battery and Reaktor and give it the final yay or nay.
There are people who are obviously not affected wither way because they have a different workflow with different requirements. Unfortunately it's not that way for me. It's an inherently bad idea to rely on something with an unreliable future. Whether I use it again relies on the answer to the yay or nay question and we may not officially find out the answer to that for another year or two.
In other news…
I do wonder whether Battery does get dropped in favour for setting up Kontakt to do something very similar. Maybe with each midi layer potentially being a full featured "drum cell". They can possibly get away with that as long as people can reliably import old Battery 3/4 presets.

I don't think I'll ever upgrade computers that won't run Reaktor. That would be like throwing away all of the good ensembles I've ever made. Luckily there's a ton of old computers for sale by those who want the latest and greatest. I can always get a used one to run my existing software. I guess the day will come when that's not possible but not likely in my life time.

Sure, Reaktor may be run for decades on. At least on Win. And if one makes it run on virtual maschine, it may run for hundreds of years whatever other folks say…..

Runing fine is completely different from being officially supported and "keeping up with the times".
Sure, Reaktor is a bit different as you can get down to the maths of things and design most things for yourself. That's the original reason why I got it. I still have an interest in that, but I just don't have the time to invest in it sadly. So like many people I use it for its "modular" premise.
Now the argument may come is that Reaktor has a strong community base and there will be others who eventually design what I need…
Yeah, but as time goes on that community will wane in numbers as more will become disenfranchised and move in to greener pastures. What we are left with is a bunch of designs made by people who also offer no guarantee in future support. Come across an issue and you're on your own.
So what we have is more risks on top of more risks, at least from my personal standpoint.
I can appreciate these elements aren't an issue for everyone and they have a right to make their own choice. I just find this increasing amount of risks is just too unacceptable to use in professional, high stakes environment.

Even if one does not build anything in Reaktor, even does not use it as modular it gives so much options and instruments….. Even if nothing is added since now….
So, no problem to use Reaktor and NI & user ensembles as is right now for decade or two. And if one uses it at least as modular or even deeper…. Even more reasons use it.
But sure, if one does not need it or has good replacements for funcionalities he used to use…. Fine.

if the pressing issue is anticipating community support might be negatively effected someday… well there are worse situations to find yourself in
reaktor is a mature product and those of us who are here still like it because it still works as it used to. probably a lot of us would be perfectly happy using reaktor even if it was abandonware
aside from the features people have been grumbling about for years, anything else we can just build ourselves. as far as a development platform fully integrated with vst/vsti it is still in a class of its own (unless you're an ableton user you have max MSP), so unless something changes the community you fear moving on is a captive audience :p0 -
I am fairly pessimistic we will ever see a Reaktor 7. Kontact is just to big. 90% of musicians aren't going to take the time to learn sophisticated Reaktor synthesizers when there are play series instruments that require little to no parameter manipulation to sound good. Not to say Kontact is not sophisticated, from a dev perspective it is, but from a producer's perspective the "press and play" is too hard to compete with. I think too many people at NI and too many Komplete products use Reaktor, so we will never see it go away and that's good, but R7? i doubt it.

I think a lot of people are tormenting themselves over this. I'd like to see it improve but heck, I can't make full use of everything it has to offer. Be realistic, what could they possible add to it other than reporting the latency. I know one thing, that's easy to work around and I surely wouldn't buy version 7 just for that. What would you guys actually desire to justify a version 7?

I would love self assembly. I would tell Reaktor AI what I want and it would assemble and wire itself somehow. I could draw the interface or tell Reaktor AI Interface Creator how it should look like.
Well, just kidding. ;-) But maybe in 15 years when Reaktor 6 will start to become rather obsolete…. It might come.

I am not a heavy reaktor user because time is limited and there is so much one can learn, but to my understanding it is a very advanced and well build piece of software that seems to be finished, and I hope that NI never stops updating it to ensure compatibility with future systems.
I therefore rely on the wonderful community library that has been built over the years and I am haven’t even experimented with a fraction of it.
If there is 1 thing developers could add to Reaktor, is a way to export libraries that are compatible with the Maschine+ right out of the box. 1 click button converter, or maybe an external tool to do this (?).
That would be great.

I advise anyone to have a look at Alpha Forever ,
It's a great modular synth , capable of z-1 feedback loops , enough modules to go low levelHis tutorials really showcase that , where he creates a zdf sallen-key filter from scratch etc..
The included modules and filters ( all zdf ) and are of exceptional quality

I was tempted by it,seems very powerful but then i thought to myself…do i want to start from scratch again and learn how to build in this environnement.I guess i got scared a little of spending years learning it while not doing any music, like i did with Reaktor for a long time…hehe.
I am sure it is great though.

If you can build in reaktor you will feel right at home in A.F.

Had a look at some vids. Seem like it can't go low level. Its more like Reaktor was back before core was added. Just not as fully featured. Maybe in a few years if they add some compiler type thing for low level DSP, then it will be worth considering. Right now it can't compete with Reaktor as a DSP development environment. And as an insturment… it doesn't have GUI capabilities so…
I wish someone would come out with a reboot of the core philosophy, but without all the baggage of Reaktor, and modern vector based GUI stuff. That would be great.

I wish the mouse wheel could move the dials. Maybe in ver 7.
