Hello,

Anyone with more details on a possible new Massive X in Komplete 15, apart the official NI words « Rethought, rewired, and reincarnated » ?

Can’t find

I sincerely hope the new Conflux is not a sign NI are now putting all their eggs into one Kontakt and plan to further neglect Massive X (and all their other synths we know already are in 'maintenance mode')

While Conflux is OK it is nowhere near as great sounding as Massive X, particularly the filters are not as good. The only area it is better than Massive X is in support for Poly aftertouch really.

Not sure if there's a new version of Massive X - the "Rethought, rewired and reincarnated" is I think a reference to X being an updated Massive rather than an update to Massive X in K15. Of course I may be wrong!

Direct connection with Kontrol Mk3 hardware would be nice, but they'd have mentioned that already I guess? They've certainly put it as a feature of Komplete 15, so something must be coming in regards to an update.

Hm, they certainly showcase Massive X quite prominently on the Komplete 15 pages. Maybe they surprise us. Although I'm sceptical about that. Massive X really has seen nothing in terms of updates for a year or so.

It would be great if it was revamped

I'm pretty pessimistic, TBH, but, we will see.

Sounds weird they would mention Massive X as one of 4 flagship products in Komplete if the software was abandoned internally?

From Synth Anatomy « It’s a shame there are no updates for products like Massive X, FM8, or Reaktor 6. »

Some are not a massive (hi hi) surprise, but I believed 1 hour MX was updated. Bit sad

It looks as if all the things that made Massive X fundamentally unusable are still there.

I get that everyone wants a multi patch synth that does everything, but someone has to figure out a decent UI that both allows for the maximum complexity that everyone wants, but only 5 people ever use, and the beautiful simplicity that makes it easy for people to use on a basic level and allows them to build up to becoming a serious user.

Massive X looked as if someone insisted that everything be put on the front panel in as awkward a way as possible. And set to intimidation level 11.

Simply putting everything in people's faces from the start is just utterly overwhelming. Which is why almost no one uses Massive X. This version doesn't look as if it's had any kind of a UI change, so it's essentially the same thing being re-released.

UI is not a problem for me 🤷‍♂️Browser is more, no standalone too, and no updating since a while also.

TBH, it’s not at all unable for me , just uncomfortable in some corners

I have almost zero issues with the ui. Maybe because i also like ableton's ui so much.
I dont like too much endless combo boxes and switching panels all the time.
    Drag and drop, done.

If they keep updating the synth, i'd like to see some new modules, maybe improve visual feedback in certain areas, , add a true randomizer, undo/redo on performer and a better preset browser (though i never needed it, it seems a dealbreaker for many) .

yeah, real visual feedback of modulations would be nice for sure

I have a book that I have writen out all the numbers to notes corresponding .Based on middle C .That are used in P1 ,2 and 3 .With the LFO speed I would like to see division markers and perhaps an enlarged view or an option for a magnifier glass .Massive X can do very unique sounds .I have other soft synths and have tried to create similar sounding presets and have not been able too .I think that NI have made a mistake with the presets .They get some DJ or someone to do the preset packs . These are all similar and rely too much on the top panel .I would like to see the noise section expanded with more sounds .What is on offer is very interesting though and adds to the unique sounds that Massive X can produce .

Doesnt seem there is anything rethought with massive in komplete 15. Or did I miss something?

    You did not miss anything.

There were no announcements (or implications) that Massive X was getting anything new.

It is the same product as before.
