native access for older OS
Good Day Community
Recently I refurbished my mac (MBP15.4/2.6/8GB/512GBFlash) to be able to use my old Audio 10 with TraktorScratch. This MacBookPro can run at max MacOS Catalina (10.15). I have also a Legacy Denon Mixer which I wanted to use in this context. As The Mixer supports only up to El Capitan (OS X 10.11.6) I searched the compatibility with Traktor. Therefore I installed El Capitan (OS X 10.11.6) on the MBP and it runs so far fine. Then I downloaded from this Native page (https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/de/articles/210294645-Traktor-Pro-Installationsdateien-f%C3%BCr-%C3%A4ltere-Betriebssysteme) the corresponding installation files. The installation of the Software works. As soon I want to start Traktor I need to authenticate with Native Access. Clicking on Native Access button starts Native Access and wants to connect. In Native Access I get the failure message: "No compatible update found" "Download failed" "Please check your internet connection and try again….". The connection to the internet is fine as I can browse.
It seems to me that Native Server side is not active or doesn't respond…? The fact is that I cant use my A10 without activation of the software. As this hardware/software is from 2012 I wonder what I can do to be able to use it.
Any idea?
Some facts:
Traktor buyed in 2012
OS 10.15 Catalina was also tryed out but with the same respond message.
Be aware that this OS does not have the Private-Relay function in it.
I remember that in 2012 the service center was in use and not native access. An older version then referred in the link was not tested as I don't have the files.
No Support Contact anymore to Native Instruments?
All your contributions might help and therefore I would appreciate your support. Thank you very much in advance!

Have you done the Mac must do ? ALL NI apps including NTK Daemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

If this attempt is using Native Access v1 - that version (and it's infrastructure) is rapidly heading into retirement. That is the reason for the messages you are seeing.
Unfortunately - these old Mac OS versions are now unsupported and NI apps of this vintage are no longer possible to authorize.
Fully understand it's not the news you wanted to hear.

Dear Community
I see that this problem is an overall, recurrent, common problem which is unsolved. Here are the reasons why old version of NI software version on Mac's are not able to authenticate/activate to get products running.😕
Older Mac's have expired root certificates in their system. You also notice this when browsing with safari that certificates give a bad answer in the sence that the safari reacts with "are you sure that you want to access this content?". Unfortutly Native Access does not have preferences visible as they use the system ones. 💡
So here is how to solve the problem:
- Download these 2 certificates (der files)
- open keyaccesschain.app
- import the previous downloaded certificates
- dobble click on the certificates and change trust settings to allow "always"
- close the window, might be that you need to enter now your pw if not already unlocked
- restart OS
- test native access
My 2012 MBP is now fully running with my old legacy products.
Time to use my old vynil's 😜
With best regards,
Pion

Wow. Cool.
Which version of Native Access were you using in this case? V1 or V3.13.x ?

I used for OS X 10.11 Traktor 2.11.3, Controller Editor 2.2.4, Native Access 1.10.0

Thanks for the update.
Just know that NA v1.x is scheduled for permanent retirement in Feb 2025. The software will cease to function and the infrastructure that NA v1 uses will be turned off.
If you are going to stick with this specific machine/build - make sure you get it exactly the way you want to before then.
Good luck!

Is there any possibility to have something like this working on windows?

The same crypto cipher can be used for windows clients. Just download the corresponding file type from the page mentioned above.
Then you need to store the cert's and make the same procedure as for mac. Here is a little help:

Im having the same problem Pion ! Drives me crazy..
When I reach the page you posted for the certificate I don't get where to download them
ThanksAlso I would love to try a legal action and bring together all the older customer, is not right that we have purchased the product paid them very expensively and from 2025 we will be f******d, Is not right and very disrispectful. They should still give the possibility to use it all.
