A49 Keyboard - Firmware does not update from 1.0.0 to 1.4.0

Hi All. I hope someone can help.

I have recently bought a 2nd hand A Series (A49) keyboard and have registered the serial with N.I.

But firmware does not update from 1.0.0 to 1.4.0 with the latest KKA Updater.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Maybe because of this, the keyboard browser jog wheel does not work when trying to browse Komplete Kontrol library. Not as standalone or withing Ableton.

The encoder UP / DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT doesn't work with Komplete Kontrol v3 to browse the library for different instruments and presets.

I can see that the encoder does send a MIDI signal, as when I put it in 'Track Mode' in Ableton, it moves across tracks UP/DOWN , LEFT, RIGHT and when you push down, that works too, to select a clip etc.

Wondering if anyone found a solution for this?

I also have a Mk1 S88 and that works fine. But I have a new smaller set-up in with a new Mac Studio in a different room, so really want to use the A49.

You are confusing the version of the actual firmware "updater" (the tool that actually does the work) with the actual "firmware" version.

From what I recall - the A49 hasn't had a firmware update in years. Certain not a v1.4.0 of actual firmware.

I deleted the other one, the firmware version is 0.4.9, the updater tool version is 1.4.0. If I remember correctly 1.0.0 is a wrong firmware version number but I have to check that to be sure.

Hi there, yes, sorry, I accidentally posted twice. I meant to post once in 'Komplete Kontrol' and once in 'Hardware'.

1.0.0 is the older firmware that is on the keyboard.

But when I double click the KKA Firmware Updater, it says it shows this message, but doesn't give me the option to update and it doesn't update automatically.

Is there something very obvious that I missing - to be able to update?

Maybe I’m missing something but 1.0.0. is a later version than 0.4.1.
