When will Reaktor7 come?

"And there is NO sign, NI is not going to touch it and not to maintain it. It just seems that NI is not eager to invest in bigger development than let it run."
In roughly 4 months it will have been two years since 6.50 was released.
If that is your idea of "maintaining" something - I do not understand this cadence.
NI has made it very clear (at least to me) that not only are they not investing in this thing - they are certainly not doing anything else either. "Zero residual overhead" is where it is at.
A rarified space where they never need to use the phrase "End of Life" , they never need to update anything and the best part (especially for the owners) - they do not need to spend an additional dime on it either.

Sure, it is maintaining. It will get next update when needed because of MacOS, Win12 or whatever. Maybe few bugfixes as well. Maybe even correct latency info.
I have several programs like that. Customers do not need/want any new development, just want to use them as they are. And it is so for decade, even two. It is in maintenance mode, no new development, just let it work. Program may be in such mode for decades. I have to keep WinXP to be able to provide such maintenance….

Saying "will" is nothing but pure (unfounded) speculation.
No one but NI knows if/when/ever any updates would occur. Bugfixes or anything.
One could also go the other way and speculate that maybe when Komplete 15 drops here in the coming months - Reaktor is not included at all.
What conclusion (or tangent) would the forums suddenly go off on if that occurred?
"Customers do not need/want any new development, just want to use them as they are".
Tell that to the users that started this thread in the first place - this thread title is very clear.

…it seems you have already closed your mind, so anything NI does do to maintain Reaktor, and any money they do spend on Reaktor somehow doesn't count, because… 'reasons'?
NI recently released a massive maintenance update for Reaktor to enable the core compiler to target a completely new (for them) cpu architecture. This would have been a significant resource sink. And yet you claim there is no investment, and they are not doing anything…
Other products (Absynth) were dropped in the face of the Apple architecture transition, but not Reaktor. Even though the migration was likely more challenging due to Reaktor being an optimizing compiler.

Recently? Like you mean 18 months ago now?
v6.50 was the Spring of 2023. And nothing since.
And Absynth was not dropped due to Apple. You should read up on that one.
I know it's difficult to accept change sometimes but if this was a going concern - it would be.

Two years ago is recently. And it was huge update and huge investment. For free to Apple users. My guess is that resources for a decade of maintenance have been burned in this "little" maintenance "update".
Absynth was dropped because NI did not see any reason to invest to "update" to Apple Silicon and possibly also VST3. The same with Super 8.
I haven't touched few programs for 10 years, even more. But that does not mean that in case of need there will not be maintenance. If client calls, he will get maintenance desired.
But even if NI will not touch Reaktor…. It will be well usable for next 10-15 years for sure. At least on Win.

For sure it will be usable - especially on Windows.

Oh, you will be able to install and run it for sure on future Win systems, but if history tought me anything - I would not be so sure you will be able to activate it in 10-15 years.

Exactly.
Installing a product has never been an issue but as soon as a product can no longer be activated - that is instant retirement.

It may happen. But in that case, there is lawsuite to NI. And if one may it authorise on Win11 now, it will be possible for sure in 5 years and highly probable in 10 years. And if Reaktor will get officially to Win12, one may add 5 more years.
But Reakror is not ending any time soon. If that would be case, there would not be any AS port. It had to cost fortune. My guess is half to million EUR. No wonder NI is not eager to invest more. The money has been spent on free of charge AS transition.

Look at the new Komplete 15 bundle:
Reaktor is dead.

As expected.
There are the usual Reaktor "synths" in the new K15 listings like Monark, Razer etc - but this is as it was in K14 as well.
There will not be a R7 - but that was clear to me back in Spring 2023 after the final 6.50 release.

It is in maintenance mode. It may be so for decades on. Or R7 will come one day, or whatever else…

Sure, it may happen that one will not be able to activate it using NI servers in 10-15 years. As well it may happen that one gets hit by car and dies. There is always risk.
But if one will be able to activate it for next 7 years or so, he may live few years without activation. So, about 10 years of use is doable quite probably.

It is possible that things will turn out very well for Reaktor and it will get a new round of development and it is very possible that it will be bought out by another company...But this is just a guess.
