I am reaching out regarding a critical issue I am experiencing with the software on my new computer. I have been a loyal customer and have used NI products with great success on my previous computer. However, since upgrading to a new machine, I am encountering a persistent buzzing noise when creating music that was not present before. Whenever i turn volume up or use the equalizer or whenever i duplicate audio files it also duplicates the buzz sound its crazy. i didn't have this issue before i updated the software and got this new computer

Obviously the software didn't change, but what did change is all the internal parts of the computer. My first guess might be some problem with the USB port. Did you try using a different port or different cable? It could also be a grounding problem between where you have your computer plugged in and where you have other things plugged in like an audio interface or an amplifier. Those would be easy fixes but it could also just be something that's wrong with the construction of the computer creating noise in the audio circuit.

Try using a simple mic you can plug into the 3.55 mm mic input and use some simple recorder software that comes with the unit and see if you're still getting the buzzing sound.

I tried all of the suggestions, but the static buzz and static sound is still there. I isolated the issue with all my hardware and it falls down to the NI software having the issue. Its not the computer or the interface. Its not the ports, cable or grounding issues. Its the software. Customer support for this issue is horrible. I dont know what else to do

Hard to see how Kontakt would be doing this - as Dunedin says, sounds more like a problem in the audio circuit.

    1. Could we hear a sample of the buzzing? Exactly when do you get it? When you record, do you record through the soundcard or direct from Kontakt?
    2. If you think its coming from Kontakt, when you're getting the buzzing, mute Kontakt in your DAW if that's possible, if not, mute each instrument in Kontakt in turn and see what effect that has.

A somewhat confusing statement considering that you placed this whole discussion in the Kontakt part of the forum (?)

What N.I. software are you then using and when does it create this 'buzzing' and 'static' sound ?

Might help if we could we get a readout on exactly what you bought/what is new?:

    1. What kind of computer? (Laptop? Workstation? Mac? WIndows? Custom build? Off the shelf?)
    2. What OS are you running
    3. What audio interface?
    4. Connections? Pro level grounded cables? Two prong wall wart into a dime store extension cable?

I can tell you with 100% certainty - repeatable buzz, static or any other oddball sounds in your monitoring chain - is usually hardware related.

There are thousands of us on here and all are using these products daily without buzz or static.

If you can provide some details - I am sure we will nail this down.
