Hello, I have a maschine plus that when I turn on in standalone mode you can hear a beeping noise that is constant as far as the device is on, is not so loud but if you pay attention you can hear. It is normal?

    Do you mean coil whine?

I can't remember having read about the same phenomenon before.

Is the noise an acoustic phenomenon of the device or is can it be heard on the headphone and audio outputs as well? Does it always happen or is it dependent on location or power socket in the room? If the latter, what other gear is connected to the same socket?

To be clear… is the noise coming from the speakers-headphones or the actual physical device?

If its the latter contact HW support immediately, I never heard of a device like this having coil whine, the current is rather low for that kind of problem so It could mean the power supply is faulty…

Thanks for the answers, I'll clarify the noise, this is in Standalone and Controller mode:

In Standalone: the equipment is connected directly to the wall, there is no other device connected. When it is connected there is no noise. The noise starts when it is turned on and it starts with a very low sound and then it increases until it remains at a constant level (like the coil whine , maybe it's a capacitor)

In controller mode: the equipment is only connected to USB. The noise is heard but at a much lower level but it is there.

The sound is acoustic and comes from the equipment, it is not heard through headphone and audio outputs.

Oh, makes sense controller mode uses less power thus less current on the capacitor.

That would scare me enough to go thru an RMA process, and gosh… i hate having to do that but just in case you have a bad capacitor or any other problem in the circuitry that could potentially get worse with time until… ka-boom.

So bad luck. I bought the Maschine Plus a year and a half ago and the pads had problems because they didn't respond the same. I asked for it to be returned and they gave me a new one and now it has this problem that I just noticed. What a bad experience with this device.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

Please keep us informed how NI support continues in this case.

I record the sound since I turn on the maschine until the noise is constant, you can hear at the end the constant beeping.

Wow that was a really quiet recording! Apart from a couple of peaks, I had to boost that a LOT.

I can mostly hear what sounds like traffic noise. If I filter out everything below 1kHz, I can hear a high pitched frying sound in the last few seconds.

Lots of ambient noise but it's clear it starts whining towards the end, 6k, 8k +-13k, etc…

Have you tried other power outlets around your home?

Lets us know how it goes with HW tech support.

This is a longer version, the record starts from turn on so at the beggning there is no noise, then when is on the noise starts and keep, no matter if I have cpu 2% or 80% is the same sound.

NI told me to try diffrent outlets but is the same, I also tried with battery bank and the same.

I think you should use unit as much as you can to your Advantage. External Interface or USB headphones. This is something that you could solve.

Just a little i hope good energy.

Are you ready. Free Ozone EQ have reverse Polarity Phase to get sound cancellation and then you can extrude or isolate any sound. But it's like neverending question that doesn't want answer.

If I can do anything but I am Ambient Drone Space Ambient Compositional Music Artists and still Maschine+ is Phenomenal. I can do anything and I believe that everyone can do but what to say ot what to do.

All names in Credits? I remember them as big names that defined the sound that we have today.

Enjoy it's just Maschine and Loudness Penalty for checking the loudness. So simple but the matter of fact is that no other Device is capable for so many different genres. 🐦
