Hey there native instruments,

You have updated the X1. Are there plans to update the z2? It's a beast of a mixer for a fantastic price. Mine has been through hell and back and is still kicking minus some minor stuff. I wanna know if you are developing a new version of the z2 or even a 4 channel version of the standalone mixer rather than a complete controller.

This is purely a user forum here. No one from NI will ever take a direct position on such questions or topics. Before the mass layoffs back in the days, there were "rumors" about a possible successor to the Z2. but nothing has been heard since. As things stand now, I don't assume that we'll ever get a mixer in this segment from NI again and that's why I've looked for other alternatives.

NI unlocked DVS to any interface/mixer for the same reason we are not seeing the new mixer from Traktor.

Just think, traktor and the z2 were up there with the best. They had one of the best battle mixers and some of the biggest dj’s using their software like craze and qbert. Now hardly any big or popular dj’s use traktor outside the teckno world.
I’d be amazed if anynew djs even know what traktor is.
NI have said that they won’t update the z2 but i really wish they would change their mind.
I’m really tempted to jump ship to Recordbox and get an pioneer djm s11. Now that traktor pro 4 is out I’ll stay a while longer.

I love my Z2.. but I broke an effect potentiometer after a while of rocking so many gigs with it :/ I tried using Pioneer/Serato/Rekordbox mixers but I didnt like anyone of them as much as that Z2. Sadly their isn't an option to buy a new one. I know it wont happen but im dreaming of a Z2 MK2.

@Dj Focus sadly what youre saying is true. Their is too much focus on techno music.

You could ask around if someone successfully replaced their knob with a different one to get instructions on how to do it safely and where to get a replacement. Or you could ask NI what they charge for repairing it. I am sure there are a lot of replacements somewhere in their cupboards. They sell refurbished stocks all the time, although not on their main site.
