Range of trumpets in Session Horns Pro

Hi,

how can I increase the range of the trumpets in session horns pro? I want to play tunes of Maynard Ferguson (e.g. McArthur Park). But the range of the trumpets is not high enough. So the system puts the melody one octave down in the middle of a phrase. That's so frustrating, and I have no idea how to fix this problem. Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

If you load the individual instrument preset Trumpet 1 goes from E-1 (below C0) to F2 which is a pretty broad range.

I used trumpet 1 . But it is not high enough. It is only the range of a school Big Band. Check out here which range for a trumpet I expect for 199€ software instrument. Check out MacArthur Park on Youtube.

It shthe rnge should include up to E6. This is not unreal to be played on a trumpet.

You can change the sample rate of the project to one half and record your trumpet part at half speed. When you put the sample rate back up the trumpet part will play an octave higher. I'd use a separate project for the trumpet part alone, then double the sample rate and export the horns as a wave file. Then you can import the octave higher trumpet. Also use half the tempo on the original project when doing the trumpet part. In the end it should work.

@Studiowaves many thanks for sharing your workaround, but for me as a beginner it seems a little bit to complicated. I would prefer a solution by NI by extending the range of this software instrument. I hope a lot of other users would sub me in this case, so that NI will offer an update soon.

Same problem when you've got a Bb clarinet and want an A.

Solution is very simple: Tune up 1 semitone (instrument header), MIDI Transpose down 1 semitone (Instrument Options>Instrument>)

I think Chet released some horns a few weeks ago, if you use reaktor go here. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/reaktor-community/reaktor-user-library/entry/show/14985/

You're welcome, as Sheldon would say.
