Maschine+ audio over USB?

I have just purchased a Maschine+ again and I also own a Polyend Play+ and having started a ton of projects on the original Play a couple years ago, I want to flesh them out using the Play+ synths but also use the Maschine+ devices along side it.

Now, the Play+ has audio over USB and can send out 14 stereo tracks to a DAW, does Maschine+ have USB audio also, can I send these 14 Play+ tracks into the Maschine+ via usb in order to use the Maschine effects on the audio tracks? or am I only able to send in a single stereo pair via the Maschine+ audio inputs and manually record each track separately?

I'm at work at the minute, so unable to try this out at the moment, I was just curious if anyone was able to shed any light on the Machine+ accepting audio over USB

According to the Manual, Maschine+ supports 4 Stereo Inputs and 16 Stereo Outputs.

Regarding supported USB audio interfaces, there’s a long thread on this forum. Officially only NI‘s own audio interfaces are supported.

Hmm, so there are some third party devices such as the Elektron model samples supported as noted in this article:

I think I'll just have to hook it up when I get a chance and see if it detects the Play+ as an audio interface, will be cool if it does though.

Class compliance is the thing to consider. If it is, then it doesn't require drivers, so it should (in theory) work with the Maschine+.

Class compliance is a hint but no guarantee. There’s a couple of discussions about this as well. It seems that adherence to „class compliant“ standards is somewhat vendor and operating system specific.

Fun fact: The M+ works fine with the Access Virus TI.

    no guarantee

    …hence the (in theory) part.

Well I had a quick mess about yesterday before I had to go out yesterday evening and the Maschine+ picked up the Play+ tracks via usb, I couldn't hear any audio through the Maschine+ when I started the Play+ sequence, so need to find out what I'm doing wrong with the audio routing, but at least it's detecting the Play+ 😀

Well, if it's picking up the signal, maybe run a preamp or another processing plugin on the sound channel and see if it's working?! Another issue I dealt with was configuring the input channel on the the Sound sampler in the recording section.

fastest to check with the SAMPLING mode - if you see the meters moving, you are getting sound. In which case its just a matter of creating a group with sound slots configured to receive and play back audio from the correct input channels (I'd also advise you to crank the input gain to +10dB if required)

If I set the Audio Settings Interface to Play+ I can get audio into M+ on the Sampler by selecting the input source as the stereo inputs of Play+, however I cannot monitor through the M+ headphone jack, even with monitor on enabled, I have to plug the headphones into the Play+.
I could here the audio from both Play+ and M+, but after a couple mins, the audio got completely distorted playing back on both devices, so not sure if there are some driver issues between the devices when connected via usb, so not really useable in current state.

If I select the interface to Internal on the M+, the Play+ inputs are no longer able to be selected as input source? I thought I would be able to use the M+ as the main interface and then just select Play+ as the input source for either playing/recording audio through.

Seems like you can't have both when connecting another class compliant audio interface, the only other way of getting audio in from the Play+ and monitoring through M+, is by the standard 1/4" stereo inputs.
