Kontrol 2024 outlook: what was, what now, what next?

Chaps - this realy is not a thread to argue with each other about who has the right opinon, when all opinions are valid.
This thread is about the outlook for Kontrol (SW & HW) for 2024.
If you can't stick to the thread without complaining, then perhaps start another thread to voice your opionions. That way, those of us who want to hear from NI, don't have to wade through pages of "I don't like this." or "My opinion is correct, and I don't need yours."
Forums are a place for conversation, IMO, and when you just start arguing, it becomes really boring, really quickly.

I understand and respect your point of view, but Native Instruments, in my opinion, has not listened to its customers, which is why I feel obliged to publish in this post. It is my way of protesting to Native Instruments to see if they finally listen to the users of previous versions, at least one response, who say there will be no more updates, but they remain silent and say nothing.

I think we got the gist of that a ways back. But ultimately that's ONE customer and ONE opinion, and you're entitled to it. Just because someone doesn't share that opinion doesn't mean they're a secret undercover agent for NI. It means they have their own opinion which they're entitled to as well. There's room for all here.....
Now excuse me while I answer my phone disguised as a shoe.....

And if I publish in this thread it is because I am interested in knowing what will happen in 2024 with my controllers.

This is absolutely true. It is no exaggeration to say that I originally purchased the mkiii as a midi keyboard version of the Osmose. I will be very sad if it doesn't perform the same functions as the Osmose.

Hi,
As a new s-88 owner (picked it up today) and a Reason 12 user, I have one major question/concern:
Are there any plans to support Reason 12???

I don't see how it could, it just has poly pressure, not all the other sensors allowing multidimensional touch expression, I would never have expected Komplete MkIII to be like a cut price Osmose, that's not really its focus. I'm hoping at some point it may be able to send MPE but I don't see how it could be the full 5 dimensions.

@Matthew_NI Will NI be adding integration with Reason 12 for Kontrol S MK3 anytime soon?
A. by Matthew_NI Product Team , January 11
Not planning to as of now
Just out of interest I have transport support working in both Reason and FL Studio with my MkII keyboard at the moment using MCU protocol - has that been removed from the MkIII's or is that at least still possible as a way to get basic functions going in those hosts even if it is not as great as full 'deep integration'?

MCU is one of the two supported DAW protocols: if no DAW is connected, the transport button are owned by the MCU client.

Only problem with the MkIII is the buttons don't light up using MCU mode but I'm sure they did with the Mk II

Sounds like maybe something for Native Instruments to fix , I mean providing that N.I. is determined to offer 'MCU support' ?

I dont understand why they dont work to integrate and make they ecosystem works together better (Kontrol + maschine). But they even remove what works before. And make next gen incompatible with previous. As many users reported, they cannot open project from MkII. For many, many users it is step back, not forward.

I think with no DAW connected and especially no computer connected (MIDI out plus USB PSU), there should be an option for all buttons and main encoder to generate CC events when used.

What's to fix? Reason already works with KK MkIII using MCU. The only thing that would improve it is adding the deeper integration, but tbh Reason is limited by not having support for Poly Aftertouch so it is not the ideal host for using with MkIII keyboards anyway.

Sorry , I might have misunderstood you ! , I thought that the "Only problem with the MkIII is the buttons don't light up using MCU mode but I'm sure they did with the Mk II" were a sign that some MCU functionality that were there before were no longer present, and that the "buttons light up" were part of same MCU functionality.
