I am trying out the Jacob Collier Audience Choir. I am hearing extreme distortion. Why?

I am using the Kontakt 7 plug-in with Logic Pro 10.8.1 on a MacBook Air with M1 chip.

I have other N.I. plug-ins that work flawlessly. Any ideas on how to eliminate the distortion?

Thank you.

I had to shut down my computer for an unrelated reason. And when I came back to it, the plug-in was working perfectly! How many times I have seen that!

Thank you to all who laboured over this dilemma.

    Hello,

can you describe a bit more how the distortion sounds like? Maybe give an example.

The phrase "audio crackling" best describes it.

I attempted to record it; would you believe that it defies my attempts? Each attempt resulted in a clean recording. And yet the "audio crackling" is loud and most annoying.

One article I read from N.I. suggests the "maximum" variable be altered from 128. I tried 256 and 64 -- same results. I uninstalled the app and re-installed it -- no change.

And as far as I know, N.I. does not answer specific queries like this.

    Any suggestions?? (Thank you)

You mean the samples in audio settings called buffer size, you could try higher settings. I will also try this tomorrow and see if it's maybe heavy on CPU.

I noticed that you apparently are on Mac, but this reminds me of a driver problem on a Windows rig where Windows keeps switching to a bad driver (which were MS/Windows newest and best for device !) , after I dunno how many re-fix the fix finally just stuck ! My point ? If you are up against something OS internal then it can be very difficult to both get a grip of problem and to get a fix to stick !
