I’m interested in what kind of favorites you got from where they will test your product in the right way in 2024. And what about the promise of a roadmap for subscriptions in 2023 and the topic of people who paid for a whole year and are waiting for your plan to be implemented someday. And in December, your speaker reset all your victories on the road map.

To be honest, I used to pay a monthly subscription to Serato Pro of 13 dollars. Giving 5 dollars per month if it will support development in my opinion isn't all too much. It's like skipping 2 beers in a pub, per month basically.

I agree -- After 30 years and countless years since Final Scratch Pro, I hardly DJ anymore. But when I do Traktor is still my software of choice, because it's what I really made a home with for my music and style of mixing. I'm all for supporting development.

That said, I don't care for the basic pattern player (I'd rather use Remix Decks or Maschine for more flexibility). Ozone is.... cool? Not sure it's a dealbreaker. I'll also say that it's weird to see Daylight mode as a Plus option under development. Feels like that belongs to everyone. So currently, I'm paying in hopes of stem separation (they're last to the game) and flexible grids coming sooner than later.

It's not a ton of money, and I'd happily pay $49-$99 for "regular" updates, but they haven't been that grand or consistent. If I didn't pay annually, I'd probably pause until the next update comes out.

Yeah, I agree that some of the new features from the previous updates are questionable at best. My guess is that they had to put out something other than bugfixes to justify people paying for the subscription service.

My guess is that most features will at some point land to the base software, or that they'll transition to a full subscription model in the future.

I do have gripes with the software, don't get my wrong. Serato is more stable than Traktor, but what Traktor has going for it is way better effects control, Remix decks (which are a hit or miss for me).

In all honestly, the only thing I really miss from Serato is the way it analyses tracks. I didn't have to do much prep in Serato (I don't use cues often), but with Traktor beat grid is god awful, which wouldn't be an issue if I didn't use an X1MK2 and had an actual tempo fader to adjust stuff on the fly like I did with Serato.

My bet is that if they actually pull off elastic beat grids and Stems, Traktor will be the most complete solution out there for the non-CDJ crowd.

I will take that bet.

I think Algoriddim Djay or virtual DJ will still be "more complete"

Not sure how to measure it though. But I'm willing to bet 10 EUR.

I have really mixed feelings about this.

I use Traktor on a Windows Notebook, Traktor Audio2 and a AKAI APC-40. I play mostly Stems and I use Nuo-Stems for creating the tracks.

All my Traktor mapping on my APC-40 made me get stuck on this platform. I'm slowly switching to Djay Pro (which also got great mapping features) and I feel I'm almost ready to switch, if desperately needed.

I've paid the subscription for several months, but as I was feeling let down by the lack of relevant updates (at least for me) it started feeling like contributing to charity, as I was giving money with absolutely no return. The subscription is cheap, but also pointless, so I've felt like a fool and cancelled it.

Truth is: They're just having a hard time updating Traktor because the app was left to rot for a freaking long time. Of course that would be difficult.

This is not a Kickstarter Company where I invest my money and just hope that the product turns out the way I expected to. This is a massive and solid company that I imagine got a lot of resources and know-how for getting this job done - Except they didn't. The subscribers are paying for the features development, not for the developed features. I think that's the part that gets the users a bit upset.

I just wish they understand that we are not here for criticizing the product because we are haters, but because we actually love Traktor and we all wish they could be back on their feet.

Every day gets harder to keep going with Traktor. I simply started to expect the updates to be meaningless (for my case), because at least at this, they're being consistent.

I've tried Virtual DJ, and It just didn't stick with me. Don't know why, but something just didn't feel right.

I really don't have an opinion on Algoriddim DJ, I DJ as a hobby so I don't know many DJs personally. Can you tell me more about Algoriddim? What is missing from Traktor that Algo has (except stems and elastic beatgrids).

Oh I will also be using Traktor for now. And both Djay and V-DJ have their downsites. But both have a ton of features.

Djay supports / has mapping for a ton of different Hardware. Pioneer, Numark, Reloop, Hercules etc.
Not only elastic beatgrid, but automated elastic beatgrid. You can throw it on an old disco track and it just sticks to the beat.
iOS support. You can even mix DVS on your iPhone if you want to. Reloop has a small controller that combines X1 and Z1 into one. Makes for a fun little travel controller.
More streaming services like Apple Music and Tidal
I have not tried it, but I think it also has something similar to a remix / looper deck.

Hardware support is definitely something I'd like Traktor to improve on. The whole modularity aspect is really appealing to me.

For all other feature, they're more for a working DJ than for myself. I'm a dev by day, and DJ as a hobby, so for me those features would be a nice add-on but not a must have. Except maybe for the beatgrids cus' I really hate doing prep.

Manually beatmatching, ...etc is fun for me, and every mistake that my software repairs for me kinda takes the fun away.

But from a professional point of view, having to fight with my equipment and software would definitely be a nightmare scenario.
