Is there any way to open an empty instance of Kontakt in Komplete Kontrol?

This seems way too simple. However, When I want to load a non-NKS instrument into Kontakt in Komplete Kontrol, I always have to load a Kontakt instrument from the patch browser that I do not want. Then I have to go into the file browser to find the Instrument that I want. How can I just open an EMPTY instance of Kontakt?

    Yes, there's a way indeed:

You should have an empty Kontakt opening.

Thank you for your reply. I did try that before I sent in the inquiry. Thing is, when I follow this suggestion, I do not get an instance of Kontakt. I just get a black area with no Kontakt instrument. There is no way to load any presets and the general interface is missing. If I select the menu browser, I get a list of all presets, but not an empty instance. In previous versions, there was a "default" empty preset - but I cannot find that anymore. Thx, Kelly

That black screen happens to me only if, once Kontakt has been loaded and displayed, I click on the close button (x) for its interface.

At this point, the only way to have its interface back on screen is through the View menu and choosing Edit View (or Ctrl 3 on Windows) and then on Kontakt interface select Library or View to change it again

@Matthew_NI something is definitely not working here (or at least not very linear), since this is more a kind of workaround than something that can have been designed like this on a purpose. I don’t think you expected that simply closing Kontakt GUI with the x button lead to that black screen so difficult to revert.

If you add to this that KK always crashes during my tests by simply changing the instance of Kontakt into an Audio module and then back to Kontakt, this becomes something you could be interested to investigate

Thank you for your response! I do not even get the Kontakt interface that you show in your first pic. I just get a black screen. I am on a Mac - don't know if that is affecting things. Thx again.

Have you tried what I suggested? (View menu, select Edit View) to see if Kontakt GUI appears?

Yes, I did. So, the view menu is greyed-out. I launched the Browser (in the same area as the view menu) Then the View menu appeared and I was able to select 'edit' view and I finally got a blank instance of Kontakt! Whew - seems kinda crazy to have to go through all those steps - but at least I can now create an empty Kontakt instance. Thank you for your help!

    You’re welcome.

As I said, this is more a workaround than what I think they expect we have to do in order to see GUI. Probably some bugs are doing their job here
