Kontakt 7 player too loud

Hi,

I am using Kontakt 7 player for midi projects. Many of my instruments are extremely loud (like maximum velocity) when I first play a track. This only happens on the first midi note, the rest of the track is normal.

More seriously, when I freeze a track or mixdown the project, the same extreme volume occurs - but likewise, only on the very first note in the track.

I am stumped - any thoughts? 🤔

After testing kontakt with a fresh project the problem is resolved - it seems I had changed a setting in kontakt that was causing the problem - not sure which setting. Many thanks to PoorFellow, PK The DJ, reffahcs, and Jeremy_NI for your input. 😉

Where is that happening? Which DAW? What operating system? Is there a keyboard connected? Is it only on the very first bar of the project or the first bar of the MIDI clip?

This is only happening on the very first (or maybe few) midi event(s) in the track

I'm almost certain someone else had an identical issue a few months ago however I can't find the post. Their issue if I recall correctly was that the first note they played was always at full velocity. If someone can find that thread, it may help the op?

@Al Lewis Can you try the same Kontakt instrument in standalone mode and post the results?

@Al Lewis When you say "many of my instruments", does that mean that some Kontakt instruments DON'T do it?

Is the entire project made of Kontakt instruments? If yes, how many are there? If no, what else is involved?

Where is the first MIDI note? Is there anything else happening beforehand?

I found this , but maybe not what you were looking for : Anyone else notice that Drumlab often outputs full velocity sample even when velocity is low?

First note played causes a crackle sound. Caused by Replika? (looks as not related to the above ?)

other I could spot were mainly with velocity problems regarding keyboards and keyboard keys...
