I also got a little excited when I saw the email then disappointed when the apology email came out. One good thing though if you look at this positively is that they must be close to release or why would they have created the email in the first place. Fingers crossed !!

    It's out.

However doesn't fix the Logic Pro, Kontakt 7, MK3 crashing problem :-( - although for some reason they keep saying it's an Apple problem

Next firmware due in a few weeks for Kontrol S-Mk3 will bring Sonoma compatibility.. so these issues with Logic Pro and Kontakt 7 might be fixed at the same time.

It is out, but no Sonoma compatibility?

The initial (and premature) email announcing Kontakt 7.8.1 specifically mentioned that the release was (or would be) compatible with Mac OS Sonoma.

Then, after the oops email, and with the subsequent and actual 7.8.1 release, i saw no mention in the Native Access log confirming this compatibility.

Any clue as to why this was projected to happen in one statement by NI, and then did not?

Note: The answer why you didn't see 7.8.1 before (because now it is available) is really simple:

Developers get the new versions before (and sometimes, long before) they released to the public.

    Yeah.

Just like the developers test the builds of versions for OS-es.

    For example:

When the developers published, let's say, Windows XP, they did update the version while also testing the new builds of Windows Longhorn (also known as Windows Vista).

Same for any program or software.

I’m not sure I stated my question clearly, so permit me to try again.

Now that 7.8.1 is released, is it compatible with Mac OS Sonoma or not?

The premature email indicated Sonoma compatibility; the release notes in Native Access makes no mention of this in the list of fixes and changes.

NI’s chart for Sonoma product compatibility makes no mention of this either. I’ve recived two conflicting sets of critical information from NI which should be reconciled.

in a different threat they clarified, it is not supported yet in 7.8.1. - It will be in 7.9, which will be out soon they said :)

Its not just logic, Kontakt is crashing in Ableton, Cubase 11 and 12beta. As soon as i open my third instance, crashed the whole DAW to desktop. I am wondering if its a windows 11 issue??

Getting really fed up with it now.

Kontakt 7 works just fine in Cubase and Ableton on Windows 10

so, i would say that it is not a Kontakt or Windows 11 issue (because i know some people who work with this conbination, K7+Cub13+Win11 and never had any problems), but something else,

maybe a graphics issue (not fully compatible cards or too high DPI settings on huge screens, or something like that)... or perhaps some wrong configuration in your systems (one example is the Power Options, you should always use "High Performance" and not "Balanced")... it could be a number of reasons...

my advice is to collect the crash logs (as many members as possible) and send them to NI support for analysis
