Kontakt 7 Crashes with 3rd Party Libraries and DAWs

Peace family, I've consistently encountered issues where Kontakt 7 3rd-party libraries are crashing Studio One 6.5.1 over the last few days. While recording in real-time with both Gravity 2 (by Heavyocity) and Le Gibet (by Teletone Audio), the DAW quite suddenly freezes and then crashes. My auto-saves are at default, so I haven't lost anything yet, but I'm wondering if there are fellow users out there who've encountered similar issues and have some tips on how to troubleshoot these incidents. Cheers, c

This fix did not fully help me, and I discovered that MSI Afterburner and (RTSS) hook was the issue for me:

I can now even run with 16 cores set inside of my DAW in Kontakt:

"If you are running MSI Afterburner and/or Riva Tuner. Close it before opening up your DAW/Kontakt7.

Its the RTSS hook, that is making Kontakt7 crash your DAW"

    or:

Inside Riva Tuner I made specific profiles for Komplete kontrol, Kontakt and Ableton,Cubase13, (all daws)- changing for everyone the "Application detection level" from low to None.

Now Komplete control, Kontakt, doesn't crash the daw anymore.

Unfortunately, I don't have any advice on how to solve this problem,

But I've had similar problems. I also use Studio One 6.5.1 and Kontakt 7 (Full and Player) on Windows 11 and both crash with ASHLIGHT, Heavyocity plugins, etc.

So far, it doesn't seem to be related to specific plugins. But what I've noticed is that it only happens when my computer wakes up from sleep mode. As soon as I open an instance of Kontakt, Studio One freezes for a few seconds and then restarts.

I'm wondering if this is happening with other DAWs or just Studio One 6.

@chiturner Just found this which seems to have fixed the issue on my end so far:

Here's the way I fixed it:

    • Close Studio One
    • Open Kontakt 7 in STANDALONE mode
    • Go in FILE > OPTIONS
    • Select the ENGINE option on the left
    • Replace the ** | ** default value by selecting any of them (OFF, or match with your CPU number of cores)
    • Close OPTIONS
    • Close Kontakt

Now it's not crashing anymore when I open a Kontakt 7 instance from Studio One.

Been having the same issue, it happens for me in kontakt 7 player standalone and in FL Studios 21 as well as Reaper. I don't even have to have it recording just having it open and playing MIDI Notes with my FLKEY Mini and using the GetGood Drums PV library and it crashes every time without fail. Kinda upset about this as GGD PV wasn't cheap and i haven't been able to use it at all after nearly a week of owning it... Have you found anything that has worked yet?

    PC Specs:
    Processor: I9-13900k
    Card: RTX 4070TI
    Ram: 64 GB DD4
    Storage: 2 TB SSD
    A/I: Focusrite 2I2
    Daw: Reaper/Fl Studios 21
    Midi Controller: FLKEY MINI

I was still having issues (see above) when opening Kontakt 7 after waking up my computer from sleep mode. But since I updated to Kontakt 7.8, no more issues. Thanks Native Instruments for fixing this annoying issue.

Just updated Kontakt and it crases reaper. Older version was OK if I run separate or dedicated process. Now this does not work. I cannot use my kontakt libraries. Please help

    This actually worked!!!

Changing the CPU core count to Disabled, then restart, then put it back to 16 cores. then open cubase, no more crashing!!

    Thanks

Peace family! Sorry for the delay, in response. So, it's been almost a week since I've finally been able to use the fix provided above by @GDD and it's been smooth sailing with Kontakt 7.8.1. (the Full Version) on my setup with Studio One. I'm not familiar with Reaper, FL Studio or Get Good Drums at present. I can say that Le Gibet from Teletone Audio and Gravity 2 from Heavyocity are BOTH running smoothly with the extensive work that I'm doing, so thank you for your help with this @GDD ! Salute!
