Komplete Control 3.1.0 rescans all VSTs every start of the software

Hi,

does anyone have the same problem? The latest version V 3.1.0 rescans all VST(s) every time I start the software. I do have a lot of VST(s) and a very fast WIN 11 Desktop with super fast SSDs. Nevertheless every start takes now about 5 minutes! This behavior only startet with the latest release.

Can you see which VSTs are being rescanned - is it definitely all of them?

Yes it scans all of them every time. I have Komplete Kontrol since 2 years, so I know how it should work. Also I have Maschine 2 software, that uses a similar scan and that starts normal within seconds including only the update scan. So for me it looks like a bug in the latest relase of Komplete Kontrol (3.1.0).

Might be a permissions issue, if you are on Mac does KK have full disk access? You might have to set it again if you have updated to KK3

Without trying to be unhelpful, mine doesn't scan everything each start apart from the DLL files that are dumped in the VST3 folders so it's not a hard bug. Resetting and rescanning might help, details to do it are here - Komplete Kontrol Error Message: "Loading Issue - Plug-In not found. Please open the standalone application..." – Native Instruments (native-instruments.com) The title doesn't describe your problem, but it shows how to delete the databases and rescan.

PROBLEM SOLVED

Thanks to everybody for your replies. It seemed that my database or some related files were screwed up.

First I tried the advice mentioned in the post above. This was not enough but led me to the next step.

I uninstalled Komplete Kontrol AND deleted (actually only renamed) the data folder (drive:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Komplete Kontrol).

After reinstallation the folder with the DB was created and correctly initialised.

Everythings working perfekt since then.
