This function in particular gives an idea of how big the distance must be between the ancient Traktor code base and its competitors on the market.

I've now spent maybe a total of an hour trying out the new gridding options and it's fantastic. Honestly, I've rarely been as impressed by a feature of a DJ software as this one. I made three DJ edits of old Disco tracks in 30 minutes, for which I only used stems, the sampler and the elastic beat grids. Recorded the result and I've already reached my goal. If I had done this with Ableton, it would have taken a lot more time.

Turning Traktor DJ not into the new Pro has now turned out to be a huge mistake. A missed opportunity because that train has now also left. What a pity.

Just a quick comparison. The Pro + subscription from Traktor would cost me more every year in order to have a maximizer and a few hi-hats, snares and drums in return....

These features are amazing! Pity I feel like even if one or two of these make it to Traktor pro, it'll be paywalled behind a Traktor plus subscription. Super worried that I'll be given the option of new features only with a subscription or no new features/cool features.

kind of a version. tbh the windows (and android) version(s) are really not on par with the ios and mac ones. almost a different software.

EDIT: Please take a look at @Demus entry below. Apparently the two versions are not the same yet, there are still differences.

They windows version is not the same the mac OS and IOS version. Mac OS and IOS is way ahead of the windows version. That was the complaint from day one and still is to this day. Even the IOS version is more robust than the windows version which is just a travesty on algoriddim part as far as windows is concern.

Stuff still missing from windows version

Smart Playlists, I haven’t seen them anywhere.
Track Match in the side panel exist, and i can use it with beatport, Soundcloud, etc. but not for my collection.
Option for Colored track tags doesn’t exist in my collection.
In Auto mix, Mac version have Neural Mix for transition, not on Windows.
And in Auto mix options menu, The length can be adjusted up to 32 bar, but in the Auto mix view it stops at 16 bar.

It may be that the two platforms are different. But what the software does on OSX is very good. I haven't tested the Windows version yet.

I was on the beta testing for windows and all the stuff that I requested was released on the new MAC/IOS but never saw the light of day on windows.

Thanks for the correction. I will edit my post accordingly. Unfortunately, I had it in my head that the platforms were now equal, but that's obviously not true. At first I thought you meant the old versions, there was a huge difference and the Windows version was really something different before the re-build.

Do you think they can keep up if they want to maintain both platforms from now on and will it ever get to the point where both will be on par?

Don't know about the windows version being updated on a regular. When I ask algoriddim about the parity of MAC/IOS vs windows I never get a positive or confident answer that windows version will ever be of any importance to the team. The MAC/IOS Djay 5 is very good. From my personal experience with the windows new v5 it is years behind the MAC/IOS v5. So much important features missing from the windows version. In fact, all the highlighted feature from Djay Pro 5 MAC/IOS are not in the windows Djay Pro. If you have a windows computer don't waste your time or money on the windows version until you see the same parity in highlighted features. If you have a MAC/IOS really good piece of DJ software.

I think this is due to Apple Silicon and its ML capabilities.

Algoriddim squeezes the best out of these SoCs.

I believe, they would instantly catch up with their windows version as soon as intel and AMD deliver such machine learning power in their CPUs to windows computer.

hmm, it can't be just Apple Silicon. I have a MacBook Pro from 2017 with an i7. The software runs on it without any problems. Sure, the guy has something to do, but it works.

it's just my feeling, but their software stack is Apple centric. and their port to android and windows seems to are hack .

Sure it is not just the CPU power, the macOS is also optimized to better handle the audio processing.

Anything audio a background task on a PC's. It is not comparable to a mac (and I'm not a fan of apple)
