How can I use my maschine mk2 to control scenes and groups, Lock, while using my maschine mk3 as the main instrument?

theres a scene button on the maschine mk2... it brings up the scenes on the pads
im pretty sure you can control the lock function as well, its function is embedded in the menu's somewhere...
not sure entirely what you mean by controlling groups.. as last i looked you could press A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H anytime taking you to the groups! *shrugs,
In dedicated mode no, only one device will be active and the second one will switch to MIDI Mode automatically.
Only Sections, Scenes, and Locks; any MIDI Controller can do that, therefore an MK2 in MIDI Mode also can.
Set it up in the MIDI Change Menu:

The Manual might also help, its quite easy just make sure to send notes starting on C-2.
