Files in Cubase are getting to big...issue in Kontact 7?
I use Cubase 12 as sequencer and lately my files are getting huge sizes (sometimes above 1GB!). In Steinberg forums I got informed that this may be linked to NI Kontact....does anyone know about any issues on this matter?
Thanks

Just to trace the issue and solution : the issue did come from BATTERY, not kontakt. After i changed all Battery instances in the project, the issue is solved.
Maybe this will help someone...cheers

What kind of "Files" are you talking about? Cubase projects (.cpr)?

Yes, .cpr files.
Every time I open the project, after a few seconds the project gets 2 around times bigger (I've tested this up to 1GB of file size!). The issue stops when I unload all NI instruments.

wow, this is crazy... i have some projects with 64 instruments and lots of audio samples, and all they are some megabytes only!
however this is no issue of all NI instruments but most probably just Kontakt... maybe you are using a badly-written 3rd party library?

I've tested to load kontact without any instruments on it, the issue remains the same. Just to show:
The first time I opened the cpr file, it is aroung 7MB. Then it jumps to 47MB, then 123MB....it is really weird.
The issue disappears when I save the project with the instruments unloaded.
