Komplete Kontrol, from NI can no longer be opened _VST(s)-opengl32sw prevents this

Did the opengl32sw file reappear when KK rescanned? It might be shipped with one of your plugins and reinstalled by Windows. This was reported here Opengl32sw is stopping my Maschine Essentials from opening does anyone know what or how to fix this? — Community (native-instruments.com) for Maschine, no real resolution unfortunately.

Have you tried terminating the scanapp process from Task Manager when KK gets stuck in the scanning? I think that should move it to a blacklist so it's not scanned again.

Likely because they used some new framework for KK now which probably doesn't play with some cards now, especially if you have an older graphics cards.

Do you have an MK3 keyboard? If not it may be a much better solution to simply revert back to the older v2.x version.

Indeed iZotope does. Roland, no it don't. UAD i don't know. So what? Their files are relative to the plugin. For example (in case of iZotope), those are totally related files to the plugin. On the contrary opengl32sw is a totally non-relative file. It is a graphics component (Google it)!

Either way, if this file will not been removed, then she will never be able to complete the scan and use the software. It is that simple! :-)

opengl32sw has NO place in a VST folder!

It is a .dll file and is related to graphics. It has nothing to do with VST plugins.

Go to your VST folder and remove it manually.

Either delete it completely (since it is not a mandatory system file), either keep it in another, non critical folder (such as your Downloads) for sometime to see if any program will ask for it (then move it to your Windows\System32 folder)... if not, then delete it.

Since 1998, when i started to use VST, and until today, there is NO VST named as opengl32sw. This file has no place in a VST folder and it should be deleted immediately.

There is NO known plugin who installs graphic components (yep, the opengl32sw file) on a VST folder.

If however there is such an obscure plugin (maybe a free plugin or from a new and unknown developer), then it should be removed and blacklisted as "naively dangerous".

...just go to the folder and delete the damn thing! Then re-scan. If it is still there, you should consider it (and treat it) as a virus.

Hello Amira. Most probably is that, your Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime is totally outdated or missing some critical components. Download and install the latest version should fix the problem:

Sorry, but you're wrong. Izotope load additional DLL files into the VST folder they're installed into. UAD load additional DLL files into the VST3 folder tree. Roland also load additional DLL files.

The thing here is that the scanning in KK isn't resilient enough to scan a DLL that's not in VST format. That's a bug as any non-VST dll should just be ignored in the same way the non-VST DLLs loaded by Izotope, Roland, UAD and others are.

Applications can distribute openglsw during Windows deployment, and it's included if you build a deployment for the QT libraries over. It's not a virus or anything harmful.
