What to update or not with KK Mk1 in my setup ?

Hi all,

I actually have 8 updates available in NA

All of them introduce NKS2 features and are relevant if I update Kontakt to 7.6.2

Problem is that it seems the last update of Kontakt cause issues with KK mk1 keyboard

Also Komplete Kontrol MK3 drops KK Mk1

all in all it seems that no improvement can be made keeping basic lightguide functionality and control feedback on KK Mk1 and release note . Not an improvement IMHO

so all in all it seems that KK MK3 owners are the only one to benefit from future updates ?

I have Many Ni products but it seems that the choice that has been made is to get rid of many customers ?

I am a bit puzzled and would like to know If I can still feel I'll be able to still work with NI or is it going to be constant internal divorces between devices and softwares ?

All of this looks like a big mess with no other solution but to sell all my NI stuff and gear up elswhere ?

I am at loss and just don't get where this is going anymore

Any advice would be much appreciated 🤘

Yeah thanks,as I pointed out I didn't upgrade to 3.

Why? Did everything just stop working? I have a MK1, it still works perfectly and to be honest I much prefer the GUI with KK2 rather than KK3. KK3 doesn't actually add anything until you have a MK3 keyboard. Maybe in the future some instruments might have additional functionality with an MK3 but it's really just a keyboard with extra control features thrown in.

I don’t know 🤷. Perfectly fine as is indeed. Just wondered why support was dropped on this flagship, the origin, the beginning. Not technically long or expensive to do

For the 999th time - "support" for this device was NOT dropped. KK 2.94 (and the forthcoming 2.9.5) will 100% continue to "support" the MK1 devices.

You are confusing "support" with "software updates" The two are definitely not the same thing.

I’m just waiting a little bit not updating anything, until thing will settle down and I hope NI will at least state which are the last version of ALL their programs that will cause no problem with MK1.

At this point I’ll ask for ALL those installation files for ALL my products (K14 collectors, therefore they’ll have to provide me A LOT of files, but this is how they want to manage it, therefore…their business).

In any case…MK1 is EOL, therefore…yes, no support
