Updating within Native access - "requires Kontakt to be installed"
HI. I've tried updating a few things in Native access (scarbee rickenbacker for example) and I get an error stating that it requires kontakt to operate. I have Kontakt 6 installed. Does this message mean that the updates require Kontakt 7 ? It's not very clear....

Hey all, we're aiming for a 3.3.0 release in around two weeks time, which will contain a quality of life update to this feature that makes it so the message doesn't appear if you have a compatible version of Kontakt installed already.

Hello,
you at least need kontakt 7 player and it's free. If you don't see it in native access you can activate komplete start from here and then you can download it: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/bundles/komplete-start/get-komplete-start/

I keep getting the error message about requiring Kontakt Player 7 even though it is installed (and I did a reinstall of it). I am getting this error for multiple installs of Komplete components. Is there some bug with the new Native Access application? I don't understand why this keeps occurring. I can not find a way past this error, and sure could use some good guidance. I still have 73 installs to perform, and time is a factor for me to complete all of these installations.

Is Kontakt 7 player activated? Maybe delete those tokens as described here and log in again with your account (log out - log in) https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402377887121-My-Products-Are-Showing-As-DEMO-in-Native-Access

I have the same problem. Komplete KONTROL is running in my DAW when this happens. It also happens when running the solo version of Komplete KONTROL. Very confusing. I have Kontakt 7 installed and it keeps asking for kontakt 6. It cannot find certain instruments like solo cello. If I find an answer will post it here. Thanks.

On this issue, is it not sufficient to have Kontakt PLAYER only? Do I really need to have a "Full" Kontakt installed even though I plan to use Player only? Asking in regards to the sounds in Komplete. I have access to Kontakt 5 (which is what Native Access says is required) but I wasn't planning to use it.

it depends but in most cases kontakt player is enough i would say

My question was intended in the context of the original post:
Native Access is saying that Kontakt is required (v.5 at least)
I have Kontakt Player 6 installed and activated because that's what I plan to use.
