There HAS to be a way to STOP Maschine from scanning EVERY plugin on start up

Or the software could check for something trivial, like the size of the plugin folders it’s pointing at (or file checksums) and if those have not changed - do not perform the scan.
Surely that would be asking for too much, better to press ESC key every time, got it. 🤣🤣🤣

I think it must do something like that because it certainly doesn't scan all plugins every time for me, just the last few I installed. I think there seems to be something on some systems that makes it do that, in some cases (probably most) it seems to be certain plugins that trigger it (probably because what it is not good at is excluding plugins that don't work well in KK/Mas), and I would not be surprised if permissions wasn't an issue on some systems.
I do wish the KK scanner was smarter about remembering not to scan plugins that fail the scan though. Compare to Logic for example, it also has no way to prevent a startup scan (very few hosts do) but it is good at identifying and excluding plugins that don't play nice, and even allows you control over what it does next with those - you can disable them completely or try a selective on demand rescan. So the KK/Mas scanner could certainly be smarter in that respect.

KK needs a scan inventory file written AFTER a full successful scan that can be used by ScanApp.exe to compare the environment and then take action if needed.
Even with a super simple tool like Robocopy - it can scan any directory structure (small, medium or huge) in mere milliseconds and determine differences with blinding speed and then do its thing.
It is sad that something as complex as ScanApp has zero functionality like this. Embarrassing actually.

This is still a problem in July of 2024. I have hundreds and hundreds of plugins, running on a MacOS Monterey. Ableton doesn't have this problem, nor does any other DAW or host I use. It's Komplete Kontrol and Maschine. Furthermore, ESC isn't a solution, because it also prevents KOMPLETE KONTROL and MASCHINE from running all of the necessary library configuration steps when you add expansions, or when it updates or whatever. The only acceptable solution that I have found is (as another person recommended) to bypass the Scan App altogether by removing the VST folders completely from the preferences section of Komplete and Maschine. This means that I can't use 3rd party plugins with either app. For me, this isn't a huge problem as I'm more interested in using both apps for the Native content; and I'll use the other stuff in my DAW the way it was designed. I'm just disapointed with NI because they don't seem to have anywhere near the maintenance, support and update capabilities that Ableton, Arturia and others have. They seem to make products and let them die on the vine instead of fixing core problems like this Scan app which really shouldn't be running on startup, or should run in the background without instantiating the actual plugin, or on command like Ableton. I have paid for plugins that it doesn't work with (like all the Soundtoys and Waves stuff), and I don't want to spend 60 mins to reconfigure them and all the iLOK stuff when I'm never going to use them in Komplete.
EDIT: Nevermind; this didn't work at all; it also disabled all of the NI stuff. Ugh.
EDIT: after much trying the only thing I could do is disable VST2s and just let it run on the VST3s. Still takes 20 mins and I have to deal with all the pop ups. I hate NI for this.

Echoing Kymeia - I’m on an intel macbook, and latest Maschine software on desktop - and mine only rescans after I’ve updated plugins, as you would expect. Are your plugins on a drive that’s sometimes there/ sometimes not or needs to be remounted in some way by the OS every time? That could make a program ‘think something’s changed’ when it hasn’t really, if you know what I mean.
For reference, my Komplete content is on a Sandisk ssd, directly attached to my macbook via usb c (going into the macbook thunderbolt/usbc port)

Just to add, I'm running Maschine 2.18.1 on a Macbook Air (Intel) with Ventura, and I also don't have the "always scanning" issue. I'm running Maschine an all plugins from the same main HD and partition

There comes a point in time in one's musical production journey where one has to look very closely at the obvious benefits of moving to the Mac OS.
I recently jumped back into the Mac arena as a result of updating all of my dormant NI software/hardware and it really does make a difference.
I have a high end ASUS gaming PC that burns through all the latest games, but can't seem to connect to my speakers/monitors through my Komplete Audio 6 MK2 without the absolute WORST speaker hum. My previous gaming rig had the same issue using the Komplete Audio 6 MK1. Never had any hum connecting through my Mac computers with either device.
As a lifelong gamer, I completely understand wanting to tow the PC Master Race line and have attempted to overlook the obvious in years past.I can appreciate someone who 'sticks to their guns' but in some instances, being 'outgunned' comes from sticking to guns that don't work properly.
