Problem: Crackling when playing m4a ITunes music files in Traktor pro 3.7.

Hi, like many I also had to play a party on New Year’s Eve but couldn’t use Traktor Pro 3 because of AAC issues. I used Traktor DJ 2 instead with a controller. Whilst it lacks the advanced functionality of Pro 3 it does at least play AAC files correctly and I was able to import my main playlists by installing it alongside PRO 3 on the same machine. Please fix this NI, this isn’t really acceptable.

exactly the same problem on the last purchases in December for me, cracking and variation in sound level.
I think itunes version is the problem.

How do you handle this problem?

The latest beta addresses this problem.

Wow.
Thanks for this tip!
I don't know if I should try the beta version.
I am a beginner with Traktor and I don't know if I will get new problems with the beta version.
What do you think about the risk?

If it does not work you can always switch back.
Though if you can, I would wait a bit for the next beta. There is currently a bug where you yourself have to copy some data over from the current installation. Makes the installation slightly more inconvenient.

Many thanks for this info!
I will still wait.

Same issue here. Discovered it during the gig. mp3 and FLAC work fine. When m4a is converted to mp3 also works fine. The beta version resolved the issue but had to roll back to stable version because cue point buttons were not working.
Running Windows 11 on Core i5 vPRO 10th gen with Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3.

You need to copy the QML files from 3.7 to 3.8 to make the pads and buttons work on the S4 - there's a bug report in the 3.8 beta forum about it with a solution.

Thanks for the info.
I have now downloaded the beta version.
The crackling when playing m4a files is gone. Great!
How can I now find the QLM file from 3.7 and then paste it in 3.8?
As I said, I'm not a pro with the computer.
Small step instructions please.
Thank you very much!

Read the beta thread.

I found the beta thread, but I can't find the .qlm files.
My crackling when playing m4a files is fixed.
What is new is that I have fluctuations in playback with some m4a files. When I convert the song (wav) the quality is good.
So I explored the beta thread again and came across the .qlm files again.
I'm desperate because I seem to be the only one not finding these qlm files.
I would be happy if someone can give me small step instructions.
I know it's a lot of work, but I would be very relieved if I can finally solve the problem.
Thanks!
Ulli
