Kontakt to Cubase Communication

Scenario: Kontakt is receiving a MIDI note while loaded in Cubase. A script issues a note off for the incoming MIDI note. Is there a way to communicate to Cubase that the MIDI note is terminated to avoid a build-up of MIDI notes in Cubase?
