how do i get alicia keys 2 work

hi, i hope u r all doing well. i boguht alicia keys today, and my novation launchkey 49 key midi controller also came in the mail 2day. however alicia keys isnt working., the specific issue is when i get into kontakt 7 it wont let me change the Port on the MIDI settings. im not familiar with MIDI this is my first MIDI controller ever and my first virtual instrument software ive purchased. how do i make alicia keys work? the stock virtual instruments in both cakewalk and reaper work just fine with my MidI controller. i am using windows 11. thx

1. Download latest Novation drivers
2. Open Kontakt
3. Options (Gear Symbology)
4. Click "Midi"
5. Look for Novation
6. Where it say "Off", click and select port

Hi. From your description it seems that you are running Kontakt 7 standalone and your DAW at the same time. The same MIDI Controller cannot be accessed by more than one application concurrently.

In other words, Kontakt can't access your Launchkey because it was already connected to either Cakewalk or Reaper.

What you might be trying to do is to launch Kontakt 7 as a plugin inside your host, if so, check this NI support article

If you just want to play Kontakt 7, close all applications. Make sure no application (Cakewalk, Reaper, etc) is running. Now launch Kontakt and select your MIDI keyboard. It should now work.
