spare micro switch for X1
Good evening all
now that the old NI has closed alot of good info has been lost, i am looking for replacement micro switches for my X1 also looking for spare rotary push encoder. i remember seeing this on the old NI site but it is not accesable anymore. when searching it says forum closed.
my question is does anyone know the exact specs of both these items or are they just standard sized and pins.
Any help in this would be appreciated
These are two pictures of the parts i am searching for

Not a ton on the old forums about this but SPST 6mmx6mmx5mm push switches are fairly common. If you can get one of the old units unsoldered you can find a part number for easier searching.

NI didn't use a ton of proprietary componentry in their Kontrol units, the rotary pot is also a standard but you'll need to unsolder and find some markings on the old bit or hook up a tester to get specs to search out.
May be worthwhile to search out a used X1 to cannibalize, or just get another unit to outright replace yours. They're not pricey on the used market.
Edit: found an eBay seller for the pot. He doesn't ship to Canada so I can't see what else he has, probably has the other bits you need too.

Link to the old forum is linked in this post… it is not lost, but set to read only!!!
this does not answer your question, but if there is info on the old forum, it is still available to search and read!

Those are generic parts.
You can get them from amazon.

hi Telly, yes i have 3 x1's as it is. The cue point 1 micro switch and the shift micro switch are the ones i have issues with on two of the controllers, as are they two browse encoder very loose after years of use, i have had them over 10 year,so they have been worth it. Thought it would be easier to just replace the micro switches and encoders instead of buying a 4th or 5th controller..
was not sure if they where just the generic types or special ones, reading from what you and the others say seems they are generic, will have a look on ebay or amazon and get some.
thank you

Good luck! And if you manage to repair, maybe you could post a few pics of the process for the rest of us? I have no problem buying new gear when something wears out but I always keep the old one for a bit for one last repair try. And I do have an X1 that's still going strong for now, but that is never a guarantee.
