Hi all.

Does anyone know with K7 if there is a way to get it to replace the currently loaded instrument, rather than add a new one in / merge it?

You can replace existing instrument from the new browser. You have to set Kontakt to single mode (use the rightmost button in Kontakt's header bar) for this to work.

I believe he speaks of the Icon Highlighted above...if in "Single" Instrument Mode (pictured) going back to the new browser and selecting a preset will replace the existing one... if in "Multi" mode, the instrument selected will be added to the rack.

Drag and Drop the NKI on to the existing instrument, You can also turn off the "Are you sure you want to replace" prompt in "Options -> Loading -> "Ask for confirmation when replacing modified instruments"

in K7 you cant drag and drop from the browser.

either way im asking if there is a preference option which means you can double click on a preset / instrument and it automatically replaces the current one, so there is only ever one loaded.

Not from the new Browser, but if you close the new browser and then you can open up the Legacy Browser (if not already open) by hitting F1. And No, there is not setting for replacing.

Huh, I never realised that button had that function! I always thought it was just to make it visually neater. Good to know, cheers.
