I installed version 8.13.1 on Kontakt and actually the update right before that one I started having midi issues where if I play the same note on two different virtual instruments in the same Kontakt the midi note sustains and continues to play

you mean you have to instruments loaded in one instance of kontakt and if you play a note that ttiggers both instruments you get no note off when releasing the key/note?
