Cannot load library

When loading Acoustic Guitars I get wired error. It says: CANNOT LOAD PLUGIN.
1) I can load most of other libraries (except a few)

2) When I select a patch to load I can regearse the sounds

3) Not sure why the error refers to the plugin while I am loading a library not a plugin.

4) My KONTAKT is v7

5) this doesn'y work in a DAW (Ableton) and stand alone KK.

6) I have found over 6 suggestions on NI website and tried all of them nothing works so far.

7) Uninstalled the libraries in question and no fix as well. Reinstalled KONTAKT-7 and KK.

8) I tried to load it directly into KONTAKT-7 (no KK) and wired thing happesn. It first complains about the files locations, then when I point it to the correct folder the selection window closes and I am back at the patch list (no instrument loaded).

I wonder if anybody had this problem resolved ? So far no method worked for me and I am struggling with this for over 2 weeks.

Which Acoustic Guitar library are you using exactly? Is it one of the Session Guitarist series or is it a third party library?

Which are the "Except a few" libraries which won't load? Do all the failing libraries show as correctly installed in Native Access?

@aka We would recommend to rest the database, for Kontakt first and then Komplete Kontrol, you can find how in these articles.

Then you should check in Kontakt 7 is standalone, then Komplete Kontrol in standalone, then in your DAW. Also make sure to run Kontakt, Komplete Kontrol and your DAW as admin: https://support.native-instruments.com/support/solutions/articles/69000879996-how-to-run-a-program-as-an-administrator

Thnks for quick reply. This is first time in years I am positively impress with support.

For some reason I do not even see KONTAKT7 on my application list in Windows. I only have the DAV (.DLL) available. I followed instructions and removed all Kontakt folders.
while checking registry I could not find DEFAULT folder.

When I run NA there is only Kontakt 6 and 8 on the list. No options for 7.
I do not want to use any other (than v7) Kontakt versions. when I was running KK and check embeded Kontakt it was showing v7).

I'm sorry to say that, but all of this is a total mess. I have almost 16Tb of plugins and libs. No other plugins than KK/KONTAKT have cuased me so many problems ever.

Ho can I reinstall KONTAKT if it does not show up in NA ?

As far as which LIBs , it is irrelevant at the moment, because first I need to fix the problem that there is no standalone KONTAKT, no KONTAKT7 in NA, etc…

I uninstalled and reinstalled NA and still cannot see KONTAKT-7 on the App list. Any ideas ?

First things first - if you want older versions of Kontakt - to be available in NA - start with this:

Next - if you do not want Komplete Kontrol to automatically go to Kontakt 8 - ensure this - is OFF:

Hard to tell what you do have installed - but if Kontakt 8 IS present and this checkbox is ON - you should be to load any Kontakt library.

Thanks. Yes I do not want KONTAKT8 or any other than v7, but still no stand alone Kontakt 7.
When I install KK Kontakt-7 is added (but only .DLL).
Any idea how can I isntall KONTAKT 7 as .EXE properly ?

Are you using latest version of Native Access for your OS ?

Else check drive location to see if it is at : C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 7

If it is not and it does not reappear after uninstalling and re-installing Kontakt 7 then to me it would suggest some issue with your user profile drive access or user profile itself.

If still no luck the try removing Kontakt 7 from computer , then reboot , then download the installer from here KONTAKT 7.9.0 , then turn off your AV , then run the downloaded Kontakt 7 installer as an Admin. (Among other then the Kontakt installers gets their installation broken by some brands of AVs) .

in case of download problems then try logging in into Google first, if that doesn't help then copy the download to own Google drive before the download.

The above ought to help you circumvent the download limit.

P.S. the KONTAKT 7.9.0 is too old for some libraries but if you get it installed then you might be able to update it to version 7.10.9 by using latest version of Native Access for your OS . (Again if you want to make sure that the AV does not spoil anything then turn it off before starting N.A. and attempting to update Kontakt).

Well - no such thing as a "dll" anymore - that would be the VST2 variation of Kontakt 7 - which hasn't been used for a long while now. Kontakt 7 should be VST3 only now.

And the standalone gets installed with the standard installer.

OK, you are possibly right about the DLLs etc. I do not have time to dig into details of NI software. I simply do not like it, but I use it. As far as Kontakt7 - are you saying standalone will not install through NA ?
I am sure it used to,… but perhaps something changed.
I am not very comfortable to install K7 from Gdrive. Is there official download ?

No , not saying that , Kontakt standalone and plugins should all install on correct installation using N.A.

Your concerns are understandable and commendable. However the GDrive download link that I have supplied you with in the above is 'official' in the sense that it originally has been supplied by NI staff. When copying the link then I did not save the forum page reference to where it were placed originally so you will have to trust me that I have my links in order. EDIT : The page where Jeremy_NI provides the Kontakt 7.9.0 link is here. Also then while I am not being NI staff then still I am a Moderator in this forum and would not refer you to anything if I did not think the file to be OK/clean. Of course then you should always run an AV scan of your downloads prior to running any installer. In particular before running any file with your AV turned off (you actually ought to do a full system scan prior to turning your AV off !)!

Also at the moment then the account downloads that allowed us to download older software versions from own account is defunct at the moment But you can still request older installers by asking N.I. Support .

As for the running of the installer from the link provided and with AV turned off then that is solely based on your description of your problems and in an attempt to provide the best method to attempt to make the install succeed . If your computer is OK and everything works as should on your user profile and OS then NA ought to be able to install everything just fine , only you made claims and complaints suggesting that there might be some problem(s).

If you are not comfortable with the help provided by me or others here then please ask N.I. Support or in the forum then ask Jeremy_NI.

I thank you all for your time and willingnes to help, but so far no success.

… what is wrong with NA. I uninstalled all Kontakt version, KK and NA. I then downloaded latest NA. No installation anymore, just straight executable (I am running Win10). Do not use antivirus.

I run NA and I still see exactly the same list of plugins, libs etc. No single change. K6, K7 and K8-player show on the list as well as KK as installed. I know Windows uninstall sucks (as it leaves traces of the program here and there,..). Therefore developer uninstallation should do much better job (as they know where any configuration files are left and any registers need to be deleted).
I 've used some NI utility do do this in the past, so I need to find it to see if it still works (although I know it is quite old).

NI does not provide any kind of tools to properly clean up registry, to delete unused or not referenced files, folders etc.
The software uses SQLite which is a super inefficient non-snese database with tons of problems. I did manual registry clean up, removed suggested folders from user DIR and did several other tasks suggested through NI pages, but no fix. This isn't a new install and it worked in the past (with the exception when NI updated KK , which messed up permanently 50% of my projects (thanks NI for this crap!_).

I tried to run K7 abd load the same libraries and no success. I get error stating "files not found), while the files are there where they supposed to be. In this case it seems that both KK and K7 have a problem with the same LIBs. At this point only acoustic guitars (5 libs) have the problem loading. Most of the rest works fine, but I am not able to test all of them because I have largest NI set possible (which is KOMPLETE Editors Edition). To many to test each.

Still not understanding what you are describing:

1 - This is saying - Kontakt 6 - needs Repair.

2 - This is saying - "Go ahead - install Kontakt 7 when ready"

And Komplete Kontrol is just fine - if it says Open.

Anything else I am missing here?

another wired problem seem to be with the repeated folders (see screenshot). Is this normal ?
when K7 complains about files/folder not found I point it to the correct one an nothing happens after. No error, but no instrument loaded. I tried also to point to both folders (see image) and no fix.

I am sorry, I am so sick and tired of this I start confusing myself. I did not install any versions of Kontakt but v7, let's skip all other versions for simplicity. I do not need them.
Curent version I am running now is 7.10.9 I hope this is the most recent.

I clicked a little doted icon on the LIB logo and suddenly got this message (see screeshot). Is that the reason the instruments do not load ?
