NKS2 Tabs - Are we able to edit?

Question

I know we can switch to NKS1 for custom user pages, but then we don't get tabs.

How can we make custom tabs for a plugin?

*UA does a great job at organizing their NKS2 tabs, but Arturia's NKS2 tabs are sometimes all over the place so I wanna edit those.

Unfortunately, like it does a lot of the time, NI made this inaccessible to users. NKS2 on VSTs are not editable, and only available to developers when creating or updating instruments.

There's 3rd party support for editing NKS2 mapping for Kontakt via Ocean Swift, but not for VSTs.

It would be reasonable to expect this to be available for your user library, but this is NI we're talking about. You can only edit NK1 mapping data on user saved presets, because they designed the NKS2 format to work specifically with the keyabords.

That said, given InMusic now owns them, and there's a push for 3rd party NKS2 support, perhaps that wil change, but I wouldn't hold your breath for that to be anytime in the next decade.

Walled gardens always do ok, but open source wins. I wish NI would see that.
