They could have just taken Massive X, added 4 synth layers before FX and filters, and custom wavetables, and some custom skins. Easy done.
No, they plaster some producer no one has heard of(although some very good ones are not well known). When I think Charlie XCX, I think Ian Kirkpatrick first and foremost.

I think it’s a step in the right direction, finally not another Play library.
That thing is priced reasonably, sounds really good and the UI is really nice (if one is into this kind of futuristic, sci-fi vibe).

The inMusic crew do tend to make their plugins for both desktop and standalone, but (apart from a short burst of releases last year) NI haven't done so. I was hoping for last year to be the start of something…
That’s what I was getting at. I though about MPC Live first, as it has much stronger CPU than Maschine+
It does have NKS, although you do need to load it in KK, it's not direct like Kontakt
That's a relief, but funny it doesn't mention it in the manual or on the website though.

I'm really wishing this was added to Massive X, basically it's a standalone synth built around a single OSC type, and yet if you look at synths like Ableton Meld or Arturia Minifreak a swarming super SAW is just one of many OSC types. Adding more OSC types to Massive X (maybe a dedicated FM too - drawing on FM8 tech) but with the addition of its better FX and filters and semi modular structure would have been a win.
Very exciting that this Reaktor based stand alone stuff is beginning to see the light of the day. I’ll have to sit this one out unfortunately, as I’m not the biggest super saw fan. But I hope it’s just the first of many to come. Can’t wait!
tl;dr: I like it and if the new direction of NI is: "More synths, not only sample packs/play series thingies", then I´m all for it.
I do prefer synths -hardware and software- that do one thing well instead of trying to do a little of everything. And this synth does its thing well - it´s not for everyone, but neither is a 303.
Besides Trance and "hyperpop", it works well for a lot of (sometimes surprisingly supersaw-heavy) electro/ebm/industrial. That´s what I bought it for really, and it delivers. Don´t tell anyone though, I prefer the temporary competitive advantage.
Now do one with Blush Response. Basically: "any random sound source, 20 different distortion types, and multiband compression" 😎
Unfortunately, there isn't a demo version. I'd be interested in seeing the macro control assignments. Maybe someone could post a few screenshots. Thanks.
I'm not in love with the UI either, or the fact that it's so superset centric, but I do agree with what you are saying here. It is a step in the right direction and we do need less "Play" synths. Not everything is going to be fore everyone.
