How to activate Kore Player on Windows 7 in 2026?

Hello.

I can't activate Kore Player anymore. I used to activate it with my offline activation file "ActivationReturnFile.naf" in Service Center, but my system id changed and I can't activate it this way anymore.

I tried installing Native Access but I can only get the very last version 3.25, which doesn't work on Windows 7, even with VxKex. The only other version I found is 1.14.1, which can't start anymore because it wants to update first, which is impossible for the server is down.

Native Instruments support refused to help.

Can anybody here please help?

Unfortunately - everything you mention from the OS to the product is long since retired.

Kore was well before any version of Native Access - so that is not possible out of the gate.

Was going to suggest you check in with NI Support - but it looks like that is not an option.

None of this stuff is supported - so this should not come as a surprise.

I did not accept this answer, Native Instruments did.

There is a difference between not supporting anymore "old" software and purposely keeping people from using them.

This is NOT a compatibility issue, this is an activation issue. Everything would still work perfectly if the offline activation process was not blocking me just because my system id changed and does not match my ActivationReturnFile.naf file anymore. I am not asking you to update these software, I am asking you to let me use them and I should not have to.

My two software and their serial numbers are registered in my account on your website. Nothing stops you from giving me the corresponding activation key like you used to except your decision to keep people from using these software anymore.

I seem to remember that Kore Player maybe was ironically free (so why on Earth annoying me with this activation process?), but I can't activate Symphonic Orchestra anymore either and that one was expensive. Give me activation keys or give me my money back.

Respectfully - I have no idea what is involved (if it is even possible) to activate any of these super old products now - but I do know that Service Center has been dead for years now.

If NI Support has specifically told you they cannot help - they cannot help.

Like you - I have 11 products (circa 2002-2007) in my account - I accepted their loss and moved on long ago.

End of the day - if you insist on using super old unsupported software - you either freeze your machine by making it a non connected standalone - with no changes to hardware or software - ever. Or you assume any risks that may occur by not doing that.

Thanks for your advice, but if you are ok with not being allowed to use all these software you paid for, and buying some new ones that one day they will keep you from using, I'm just sorry for you, you are a good consumer.

I have hardware synths that are much older than this, one is even older than I am, no one is keeping me from using them, I can still buy parts to fix them, and if I contact the support they don't tell me off, believe it or not, they even give information about the circuits and components to help repairing. I won't hesitate to buy stuff from these companies. Buying anything from Native Instruments ever again however is very unlikely now.

It's an activation issue, not a compatibility issue.

The activation system costed them nothing to run and keep online, it was just a little script on their website that called a local program to calculate an activation key based on the serial number and the system id of the customer. I did build such systems myself, I know how it works. It doesn't need a dedicated server that costs money, it's just a very simple script that costs nothing and could work forever. They had no good reason to disable it. The only reason why they disabled it is to force people to buy new software instead, nothing else. I won't support this behavior. Furthermore I'm pretty sure that they still can execute manually that old activation program if they wanted, it would take them ten second and I would get my key.

Well to be fair - this a public forum and I did not realize that your thread was somehow limited only to replies from NI.

No one is saying you need to "support" anything. We (the users) do not get to make the rules on this stuff - so we can either accept products aging out or don't.

Whether you want to own up to it or not - this is actually a "support" issue - you are trying to get activation support for a long since retired product on a long since retired OS

NI Support supplied the answer for your request but you clearly do not like the answer you received and now are trying to use the forum as a workaround to solve this.

These are user to user forums - perfect for discussing all manner of (slightly technical) but usually common items that actually have a good chance of being solved by the crew in here.

Your issue is not one of these.

I'm thinking of another solution: does anybody know some way to convert a preset of Kore Player and use it in another software? There is a preset in particular that I need because I used it on many unfinished tracks of mine, I seem to remember that it was called something like "abyss flower". The problem is that there were a lot of filters and effects on it, I doubt a conversion could keep it intact, but I am asking anyway.

@Vocalpoint: I came to ask if someone knows a way to solve my issue. So far you are the only one who replied. Thank you for replying, thank you for your advice, but I did not ask "Should I give up?" or "What do you think about my issue?", I came to ask if anybody had a solution. "Just give up" is not a solution, it's… just giving up. A NI mod accepted your answer, not me, which annoyed me. So I was upset and I posted a message, to NI, not to you. Then you replied thinking I was replying to you. Thank you but I am not interested in debating with you about if I should use old software or not, this is not the topic of this discussion and we just clearly have two opposite opinions on that subject. There may be some other old software users here, I'll be waiting for them to pass by instead.

To be clear - I really did try to help you in Post #2.

My one (and only) suggestion in there would be for you to reach out to NI Support and see what they could do. You did that and they refused to help.

The key point that is being lost here is that NI support is the only resource that can solve this.

There are no workarounds, "alternate" methods and or someone swinging by the thread with a magic solution when it comes to product authorization.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.
