very nice, i got it down to 8.65ms latency on 48kHz at 64 frames… I will create a PR after some more testing but for now I am super happy to use the Rig Control on my MacOsS26 machine

Just so the numbers line up: the ~12 ms in the README is a full round trip, input and output together. It's measured with a cable from an output jack back into an input (./build/iotest 10 --latency). The impulse goes out through playback and comes back through capture, and both directions are in that one number. The figure to compare is the min (the median on a 10 s run is pulled up by the impulses before the one-time capture drain).

8.65 ms at 48 kHz / 64 frames would be a real improvement if it was measured the same way. A DAW's input latency or output latency on its own can land near that without including the other direction. Could you confirm 8.65 ms is the loopback (out → cable → in), and paste the iotest min/median if you have them?
any chance this would work with an Intel Mac? I'm using it on my MacBook Pro m4 but would LOVE to get some use on my 2019 Mac Pro as well
