Is the Iridium basically Absynth in a box?

I just happen to be browsing on zZounds a couple of weeks ago & I saw the Waldorf Iridium Mk2 desktop for $3600. That blew my mind. So I started looking into it, which means I watched a lot of YouTube videos. Rarely did I come across anything that sounded remotely apealing to me. Most owners/reviewers are into some kind of music that I don't get.

Anyway, when I found out what it was, I thought… Absynth.

Surely no other hardware synth has combined these synthesis methods in an easy to use format… but it's basically Absynth.

Am I missing something?
