Following last month's announcement, inMusic CEO Jack O'Donnell sat down with Akai Pro’s Andy Mac for an extended conversation about what's ahead for NI and the community.

Nick Williams, CEO of Native Instruments, adds:"We're excited to start this next chapter with inMusic. As I said when we shared the news last month, with Jack O'Donnell we have found a partner whose beliefs and ambitions align with ours. As you’ll see, Jack’s passion for the industry and for product shines through - as well as his respect, admiration, and ambition for Native Instruments. We can't wait to show our community and partners what comes next for Kontakt, Maschine, Traktor, Kontrol S-Series, and all the tools and instruments you love."
From the conversation:
Maschine has its own path. Maschine and MPC are different tools for different approaches, and they're going to stay that way. Jack is clear that Maschine deserves, and will get, its own focus and investment.
Traktor fits right in. inMusic has serious roots in DJ hardware through Denon DJ, Rane, and Numark. Adding Traktor to that family just makes sense, and Jack is excited about where that goes.
Kontakt is opening up. There's a strong vision for a partner-friendly Kontakt, one that gives more recognition to the incredible instrument builders who make the ecosystem what it is.
NI’s heart stays in Berlin. Berlin’s culture and its connection to music are a big part of what makes NI what it is — Jack gets that, and it's not changing.
